Who is going to bend the knee: Trump or Iran?
Donald Trump has given Iran 48 hours to reopen the strait of Hormuz to shipping or face the destruction of its energy infrastructure, as Tehran launched its most destructive attack yet on Israel.
The ultimatum, made just a day after the US president said he was considering “winding down” military operations after three weeks of war, came as the key oil passage remained effectively closed and thousands more US Marines headed to the Middle East.
Trump wrote on Truth Social that the US would “hit and obliterate” Iranian power plants – “starting with the biggest one first” – if Tehran did not fully reopen the strait within 48 hours, or 23:44 GMT on Monday according to the time of his post.
Tehran in response said it will “irreversibly destroy” essential infrastructure across the Middle East, including vital water systems, if the US follows through on Donald Trump’s threat.
This is about to be the biggest phuck around and find out event of 2026.

Iran already laughed this one off. And said they will further disrupt middle eastern power plants in the region if he did try. More bluster from the buffoon who has been declaring victory since week 1. We are supposedly done but Hegseth needs $200 billion more. I guess it’s for more steak, crab legs, and overpriced office chairs.

So Iran threatening threatening it's neighbors they will strike if the US doesn't stop and those idiots are telling Iran that if Iran attacks them they will retaliate against Iran. The stupid logic. If someone hits you because someone else is pissing them off you are supposed to immediately jump on their side and attack that person that "Made them attack you.
Sarcasam there BUT that is Iran's logic. That's just how backwards their thinking is. Although Iran has lots of dirka dirkas like that part of the world is full of (we have some too) their upper end people, their leadership has lots of highly intelligent people, but you can be intelligent and yet still be a failure due to backwards thinking. Either that or it was a gamble because they are limited on options. It would be like the US siding with Japan after they bombed Pearl harbor, which the Japaneese plan was to hit us so hard believing the US didn't have the stomach to fight. They learned. There is this strong beliefe that Americans are aspiled, cozy, weak people who can't handle hardship. It's still widely believed. What they also forget now is that we have nukes, a lot of them, and our way of delivering them is proven, and I honestly believe that if we ever got pearl harbored again, nukes would be used, especially if that nation doesn't ahve them. Fun fact, when the USS liberty was attacked, they believed it was Egypt and a F4E took off an aircraft carrier witha nuke on board with orders to hit Cario and then we learned it was an "accident" from Israel. Now we all know, but the point was that hesitiation prevented a nuke strike.

It’s broken up so knocking out 70 leaders doesn’t make a difference. They’ve been prepping for this for 40 years, demonstrated by the obvious ass whipping Drumpf is taking.

Some Republicans in Congress are already having a meltdown over Trump wanting to send in ground troops ...

Like I was saying earlier. Senate republicans are going to convict this guy post midterms the worse this get after the House impeaches him.
The gist is, whatever plan these people have in place is going to spectacularly backfire on them.
This is all while private credit markets are fracturing, and rising oil prices igniting a fire on an already decrepit labor market, with the Fed in a straight jacket.

Then this
Any ways, to the poster who said what's next, the US will start targeting civilian infrastructure, probably their dams and electricity power stations which will cause a massive humanitarian crises. But who cares, how many Iraqi civilians died? I guess the west and Europe are going to become more culturally enriched and Israel will gain more land and more billions of dollars and US military tech.
We will also start paying more for stuff and have our quality of life slowly erode.

Maybe these special forces fly themselves in, but the US is still stuck in a Cold War mentality of war with massively inefficient, expensive munitions that are massively depleted, hence why they're begging Congress for 200b.
The units that Neocon Don sends in aren't familiar with modern day drone warfare, as you already alluded to.

Maybe Trump is just confused and thought he was sending troops to Epstein island for some R&R.

Sometimes, some of this stuff I think is designed as a tactic of the MIC lobby to get more funding to the MIC. The brass of the military itself, as well as the industry surrounding it, their biggest fears are budget cuts. When the Gulf War happened, I'm sure they were all proud, but then right after the USSR fell and the cold war was over. US was the only superpower. Victory right? For people who's career is the military, it was terrible. 1992 HUGE budget cuts and so many people's careers were destroyed. Resulted in a lot of innovation which boosted our economy, but it was a shake up for sure.
What I'm getting to is as a career choice, those will use any data that the Russians/Chinese/ect have some new weapon, they go to congress and other leaders saying they are going to need 100 billion trillion kazillion dollars or we are going to get blown up. Hegseth is one of them. He said how they played out 10 scenereos of a military operation against China and every one of them we lost so we need a serious buildup of the military. Remember they were saying we need a new Tank because this new Russian tank was so advanced, and that very Russian tank got slaughtered by a 30 year old export Bradly in Ukraine. I'm not saying everything China, Russia, Iran has is complete garbage, but saying they "worked as advertized" sure got Abrams billions of dollars to counter a tank that didn't exist.

Drones are the most important weapon in modern war. Tanks and ships still have their place but if you don't have drones they're just a big target that is going to get popped. And one ship going down in flames is going to kill the political will for the fight to say nothing of our reputation as a power which is essentially all we have to sell to the world. No one is going to believe stories about laundry fires much longer.

Second, a ship going down in flames would be more likely to cause the war full scale than to make us lose the will to fight.
Are you American? Because your poath of thinking is clearly foreign.
Also funny thing to note how you speak like you know the US is losing and has been beat by Iran. You speak with such confidence. Not what could or might happen, it's according to you, has happened.
