My guess is this is somewhat of a jobs/training program for the longterm unemployed. Obviously they're not sending a 42 year old into battle

Will they raise the max age to 62 so they can do 20?

Feel cold, Misc. They need all of us to die for Israel.

Back in the halcyon days of the Misc, I tried to join up (was 23ish). No dice. “Childhood asthma”. Now in my late 30s, I am told that they would’ve given me a waiver these days for sure. They’re struggling with recruitment.

We go to war, where they really need people and only about 1 out of 5 actually has any combat role, but with the technology it's going to be hard to get young people up to speed. They will be soaking up tradies like crazy and maybe even some tech guys. Trade your hard hat in for a helmet.
