Drew what is the purpose of sodium in relation to bodybuilding?

Is it to get fuller?

Thanks bro and good video

The sodium thing was mostly a joke. But pretty much yeah. If you’re minimizing your sodium intake too much, you probably won’t get good pumps or performance in the gym.

I’m also not saying eat so much that it cranks up your blood pressure either.

I've read and heard that Chinese chow mein before your workout gives killer pumps.

But I also read half a Cialis works too as it circulates blood thus enhancing the pump

I standardize all of my food obviously, but I also standardize my salt intake. I usually use 1/8 of a teaspoon of salt per meal, but lately, pre-and post workout, I’ve been using a fourth of a teaspoon for an extra 600 mg of sodium or so. It makes a difference.

Lifting helps with head problems. I hope he finds some purpose. Maybe he has a crush on you. Great video by the way.

How much sodium would you recommend in a day?

I wouldn’t say that I have a recommendation for others exactly, because you’re probably a different size than me, have different energy output than me, different age than me, maybe you’re not concerned about blood pressure like I am, etc.

I can tell you what I did though. I started off in the neighborhood of the 2300 mg recommended by the FDA (I was closer to 2500-2700 mg.). But with all the lifting that I do (plus I use the sauna regularly), I started to feel a little dehydrated, and my pumps/performance weren’t as good in the gym.

So with my own experimentation, I’m closer to 3000 or 3300 now. Pretty much I kept most of my meals the same, except I added a little bit pre-and post workout.

Works for me. 🤷🏼

Mario is redder than Lenin right now.

My all time bench PR is 160kg/353lbs. I don't think I'll ever get back there. I haven't hit more than 130kg in YEARS.

the sodium does help. i think i read an article years ago by Joe DeFranco, a trainer from the early 2000s, who would advise his athletes to eat sushi and soy sauce or top ramen the night before the combine bench press challenge.

you should stop it with the clickbait titles though lol
