Got coupon for $30 oil change at local dealership
I'm a little worried that the point of the coupon is that they're going to try to shill me a new car when I'm there. Is that the only reason dealerships send those coupons out? How would it benefit them to be doing an oil change for so cheap?

They lose a little money on oil change but if it gets you going in there regularly then when it's time for a brake job maybe you get it there. Bonus if you start buying cars there but I think the intent is to gain you as a service dept customer.
