Northerners have poured in to the point that it has got ridiculous. Half the people I meet now are from NY/NJ/OH/PA. Population was like 6k in 2000-2005 and now 20k+. Two homes for sale within walking distance to the bars in town and one is $750k (on a very busy main road to the burbs) and the other is $897k...both on <0.25 acre lots with tight old streets from 1900-1940s (people usually had 1 car back then).

I live 1.5 miles from town on 1 acre. Close enough to get an Uber when drunk and ride my bike back. Thought about renting my house and buying one near town 1-2 years ago, but I'd probably be better off doing a $150k remodel on my current house (bathrooms/kitchen/sand floors/new deck, etc). 🤷‍♂️

What town? I’ve seen a lot of piece gouging in my area but it’s not that bad

not telling miscers where i live, but those are the prices and I'm meeting people new here from up north or out west every week.

BTW -- probably 95% caucasian within 2 miles of town. Rarely a non-white in the bars and if there is they come in from a few neighboring large cities.

Blows my mind sometimes how much a home can cost even in the middle of nowhere.

I love property prices going up, keeps the riff raff away from the nicer neighborhoods and schools.

you've obviously never been to the south then. you can have a city that's 90% white right beside one that's only 50% white

it's just stupid when as a native who's people have been in the south for hundreds of years my southern accent is now something commented on regularly
