Just finished watching clips of Andy Kaurman.......wtf?

Did people actually find this guy funny? They called him a comedic genius and incredible talent. He literally just came up with some beta sounding alien sounding voice spouting nonsense. How did he become a legend?

TV and movies generally sucked back then, with a few exceptions. Music was great though

Now everything sucks, but TV and movies had a good run starting in the 80s until 2012. Music started to go to shit in the latter part of the 90s

He basically invented mainstream trolling.

Back then all entertainment was very tightly controlled and sanitized. So his ability to be both mainstream and subversive was groundbreaking
