Like I said, letting Iran control the strait is not going to work out. Every time anyone does anything that upsets Iran or it's allies they use it as leverage. Appeasement never works. Europeans more than happy to pay the toll as well. They think they are the good guys but in reality they show they are bitches. Don't be surprised if more countries don't start pulling this crap, because it's been proven to be rewarded, but it will eventually lead to another conflict. But everyone feeling bad for Iran so they want to see them win something.

Since the world wants to stand for this and let it happen, the best path for the US is simply to move around it and let the pieces fall where they may.
