The US needs about 15 Republicans in the Senate to convict Trump after impeached
House Democrats are already ramping up for Trump's impeachment -----> introducing 6 articles of impeachment for Hegseth. Five of them are legitimate, the sixth being shaky, adhering more to Democrat culture orthodoxy.

The articles will flip over to Trump when the House flips to Dem, post midterms.
The Democrats will most likely win the Senate in the midterms, with five seats, that flip the overall power balance. With 67 votes needed to convict means there needs to be about 15 Republicans willing to vote yes. There are five that I can see doing it, leaving the deficit around 10.
Depending on public sentiment, even though it may seem like a long shot, that if the blue wave materializes the way it's currently shaping, with unaffordability, there is hope given the unprecedented territory the country has been in the last month and a half.
Just need a small minority of certain jurisdictions to push their reps to get Trump out.

When trump's people start getting criminal prosecutions and there is a need for someone to blame for the iran disaster you'll see a lot more than 5 republicans vote yes. Trump was only protected by fear of his base the last time, that base wants him gone more than anyone now.

With the total public shift in sentiment towards Trump for making the electorates life more difficult, we have a good chance of seeing this sentiment light a fire under the asses of Senate Republicans to get Trump out.
All the US needs is a strong Dem turnout to show a total rejection of Trumpism to create a impetus. Most of the GOP doesn't have any real allegiance to Trump. They're just playing the game.
Seven Republicans were willing to convict Trump for insurrection, and that may be a good barometer. But Trump's base was a lot stronger during that time, because he completely didn't show his hand of being completely under the thumb of Netenyahu.
I still believe Epstein also carries a lot of weight. Vance was just trying to explain himself out of it at his last public venue.
Now that Trump showed, without a shadow of a doubt, that his campaign promises were all lies, and the electorate is suffering for it, this could push those margins higher.
I'm just using 1/6 as a benchmark, even though they're not apples to oranges.
When this all falls out after the midterms Trump is going to shift all the blame to Hegseth. He's already been doing that as of late. But all focus needs to be on Trump, even though Hegseth is an extreme religious fanatic who needs to be ousted as well.
He's too stupid, incompetent, and radical to head the Pentagon.

It's a house race but just as an example, the guy trump is endorsing to run against massie literally left the republican party in protest of electing Trump. That's how much he hates Trump, even though he's pretending otherwise now to try to get elected. There are many such cases.

If Trump gets annihilated at midterms they have no need for him anymore and don’t need to be afraid of him either. They need to start sucking up to whomever will be the next heir apparent.

If the democrats hadn't blown their wad on phony impeachments the first time term they might have a shot at a legit impeachment. Now everyone just assumes TDS and that its bullchit.
Let me put it this way - if a leftist charlie kirk was murdered by a right winger do you think they wouldnt have every person that ever spoke to the shooter being interrogated at gitmo inside of a week? They're much better at this shit

Jack Smith coming in hot.
And idk about the base turning on Trump completely, the fact that he still has low 40’s approval is means that a lot of the base is likely sticking with him, so that may still scare a lot of senate Republicans into sticking with Trump as well. I don’t see them getting that many Republicans to actually convict if they impeach.
It really shows how basically equally hated the Democrats are that in this environment they’re barely polling better than the GOP in the midterm polls (I think Democrats will over perform the polls come Election Day, but mostly due to Republicans having real bad turnout issues)
