Hair Transplant Progress (pics)

Picture order - before, 2 days post op, 1.5 months post op

Current phase: shedding phase

A temporary period where both transplanted hairs and some native hairs have shed after being pushed into a resting phase by surgical stress, leaving the scalp looking thinner—even “empty”—while the follicles remain alive under the skin and prepare to regrow new hair over the next few months.

Initially yes.

It’s quite psychologically taxing tbh and I’m trying to trust the process. But it defn sucks right now.

Istanbul was awesome but had nowhere near enough time there to form an accurate opinion on the city.

Some pics of the city

Fortunately I work from home so I rarely leave the house.

If I do the odd time to grab groceries or whatever I’ll wear a hat for sure. Not being seen in public like this lol

Looks fine dude, you won't see tiny hairs until around month 3.

Did you see the Hegia Sophia? The Velodrome? The Blue Mosque? That cool ancient tower you can see all of Istanbul from? I thought it might be my only trip there, so I went 2 days early for sight seeing. I know another guy who went a couple days early and got laid twice, but I 100% believe he paid for it, there were a lot of prostitutes on Bumble when I was there, but I was only swiping for fun, no hookers for me. I matched with a model from Georgia (the country, not the state in the US} but after a few messages I figured she was looking for wealthy Americans, and I have my job listed on mine.

I regret not going earlier. I stayed at the Sheraton city centre (below) and just walked around that area, went as far as Taksim square. Didn’t even attempt to match with girls or anything.

The day after the transplant I went to the Asia side of the city for my hyperbaric oxygen chamber which was neat.

what I'd be worried about is the area that didn't get transplanted. not only will that keep thinning out but it may start hair follicle shrink whereby the hairs won't blend into the transplanted hairs.

Seems like a better method would be at least some diffuse transplanted hair into the existing areas.

I dunno though; I'm sure there is reason for how they did it. I read that the Ashton Kutcher guy actor had taken dute throughout his 20s and as soon as he stopped his hair changed. ironically he would actually look OK bald cuz of his facial geometries.

As for the area that wasn’t transplanted that hair has been stabilized with Dutasteride. I’ve been on it for 5 years. Also I think the transplanted surface area is a little larger than the thinning area (based on pics I posted). But I could be seeing things.

2900 grafts on the crown and 1100 on the hairline

Cost breakdown (in USD):

Turkish Airlines Roundtrip from Toronto to Istanbul - $860

Procedure with driver and 3 nights at hotel included - $3,800

thanks.

I think you'll have a good result. your best decision was NOT WAITING. getting that done while you still have hair is not only sensible socially but for hair health.

dont get too cocky though and try to do crazy styles though. I think its best to wear your hair conservatively if you get a transplant.

BTW: I'm an OG Puahater (thus my username here). It was the GOAT forum cuz everyone was not only cool but would roast you til you cried (not me...I eviscerated people though; I was fucking untouchable). In fact the owner deleted everything post-ER cuz everyone was easily doxxable on there.

I will say the old misc a long time ago when there were "beefs" that carried over into real life was pretty fun too though

Yeah, I think you'll be good. Clearly the crown hairs aren't going to grow in for about 4 more months, but the front will probably be looking good much sooner, which helps the process along.

That’s what I’m doing.

I went up north to my parent’s cottage and I just sit here and rot.

Haven’t seen anyone in 1.5 months. I told everyone in my life that I got a transplant and I’ll see them in a year.

You’ll make it OP, I’m living vicariously through you. It’s becoming more common around my social circle so might as well get it done. Gjdm

I had my hair transplant done at the beginning of 2022, and literally only one person has called me out for having a hair transplant. It was a middle eastern barber in Bangkok who told me that it was a great hair transplant when he was giving me a fade and could see the subtle difference between the hair. Obviously he sees so many hair transplants that he knows the small subtleties to look for.

A couple weeks ago, I was over at my longtime friend's house drinking with him and his wife(who is kind of a narcissistic cunty type that I've known for a long time as well). Her husband(my friend) is balding, and it's obvious this is something that really makes her insecure. I remember like 10 years ago, she made some comment to me when we were in a pool in Vegas about "you're starting to lose hair, might want to do something about it".

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, and she made some comment like, "Your hairline is looking really good", and was clearly trying to imply that I had a hair transplant. I basically just ignored the comment, as I certainly wasn't going to announce to a group of people that I had a hair transplant at this point when nobody knows. Eventually, one of the other girls in the group who is married but I'm positive she secretly wants to fuck me jumped in and said, "No, he's always had a really good hairline."

I could tell deep down my friend's wife was just seething because she couldn't figure out what happened. It was a moment that gave me a smile, and the girl who stepped in and defended me will definitely get some dick as a reward for it if she ever breaks up with her husband.

Lol, this is true. But give it some time, you'll be looking good sooner than you think. You'd be surprised how filled in it will look once it gets a bit longer. I think you'll feel comfortable going out in public in another 6-8 weeks.
