I am disgusted (shrimp related)

Why does the U.S import so much shrimp from India? First I found out the Whole Foods grilled shrimp uses shrimp from India then I got the Coscto Shrimp Cocktail and googled it and they import from some Indian company as well. I want gulf shrimp from Louisiana or Texas not the paje3t shrimp that swims in shit/trash infested waters. I googled it and

India is the top exporter of shrimp to the U.S., supplying roughly 40% of total U.S. imports, totaling over 246 million kg (approx. 542 million pounds) of frozen product in 2023. These exports were valued at nearly $2 billion, with India dominating the U.S. market, particularly in frozen, peeled shrimp.

I used to live in Houston so kind of know those feels. I miss the Red fish and shrimp the most, along with tex-mex and BBQ
