The Pros seem to be great.

No pots and pans

No smoky house

No stinky house

Cook mass quantities of food

Cook in The great outdoors.

Smash burgers one day, steaks the next, stir fry the next

i got a black stone. wouldn't cook a good steak on it tho. i used it for a while but now it's mainly collecting dust. prefer charcoal. it's cool for cooking breakfast items for large groups and habichi style foods. but i rather use a charcoal grill like god intended. also awesome for tacos because of the large area and you can heat up a lot of tortillas at once. it's cool as an addition but i wouldn't choose it over a charcoal grill.

easy to clean and maintain too

Charcoal takes dedication though, I cant imagine grabbing a handful of charcoal and waiting 15 minutes just to cook a few chicken breast. How often are you grilling? On a late night who wants to wait 15 minutes for coals to be fully lit? You could use a blow torch

A gas griddle you can cook on it 7 days a week with no hassle because its so easy.

You also cant do smash burgers, stir fry, quesadilla, bacon, pancakes, etc

like i said it's a nice add-on but i wouldnt pick it over charcoal and charcoal especially ones made from wood give taste to what your cooking. gas wont do that. if you get a smaller one and its just you, cool. i got the i think the biggest one they sell thats just a grill.

if you live alone or with just your S/O just get an air fryer TBH. not really a fan of burgers or quesadillas or pancakes. but i have done breakfast on mine. eggs, sausage, home fries, toast bread. i been thinking about a smoker

But charcoal is a hassle and requires waiting for the coals to fully light. Are you doing that 7 days a week?

A gas griddle is so convivient, you can use it every day year round.

I also have an air fryer.

But then you have a smoky house and you have pans to wash.

You also cant cook much food, let alone meal prep

The gas griddle you are cooking outdoors in the sun and fresh air.

I have a 30" Blackstone from Lowes. I got it for $300. I love it. I seasoned it properly and now have cooked steaks once, hamburgers twice, bacon twice, hibachi style chicken and vegetables once and breakfast once. Make sure to buy mouse traps because mice love the leftover residue. No matter how much I clean mine, they always flock to it. I've caught three already in a week. It'll do everything I want but a brisket. I used to smoke a lot of ribs, Boston butts, and brisket but decided to go a different direction. I say do it.

You can buy a good propane grill and get a griddle accessory to throw on when you feel like cooking outdoors. That way you can do everything from steak to hibachi.

I use my propane all year round, even in the snow. I use my pellet grill maybe 1-2x per month and not in winter.

Basically this. We have a Blackstone and it's usually only used for smash burgers.

Again you have to light charcoal regardless if you use a griddle accessory.

Let me ask you this, how often do you really feel like lighting charcoal? Is it on the weekend or weekday?

It's an accessory. Use it for eggs, smash burgers, heating tortillas, ground beef and whatever seasoning for taco filling, sure.

Charcoal is far superior. If you're worried about the heat up time, find something to do and spark it up just before that.

Do you put your clothes in the washer and sit around two hours waiting for them to finish and whine about having no clean clothes?

Funny you brought this up . My friend upgraded to a 28 Black Stone and gave me his 22โ€ Black Stone griddle . Was going to try making some smash burgers tomorrow.
I certainly wouldnโ€™t destroy a steak on it though , just breakfast chit and burgers

Obviously charcoal is best for steak but for pretty much anything else I think Iโ€™d use a blackstone

No bud, I use my griddle attachment on my propane grill. Takes 5 minutes to bring up to temp from ignition.

Weber Summit with an insert I bought from MadeIn.

Bought one at walmart , was all nice and clean and shiny. Had a nice cover for it and all. Put it out back and it was super windy, heard a loud crash. Wind had knocked it over and blown the cover off. Picked it up now all dirty , reassembled all the stuff that got knocked around and put the cover back on. 10 minutes later it got blown down again, this time got dented and pieces busted off. Sort of took the newness away but it still works great. very handy for meal prepping and just stuff i dont want to mess up the stove with like bacon. Just put it in a cast iron skillet on the grill.
