What made you hit your breakthrough point with fitness?

In alcoholics and also narcotics anonymous they talk about a breakthrough point where they permanently stopped drinking or using drugs, it’s also called hitting rock bottom.

What was your breakthrough point when dealing with weight training and/or nutrition?

It could be when you stopped eating junk food for longer periods than previously, or you started weight training consistently and cut out the stupid stuff.
If you’re born to the iron, you’ll know it the first time you lift!

First deployment to Iraq.

I was 20. During that deployment I turned myself into something out of a movie.

Nothing else to do, no where to go, no way to express yourself, only gym and the thought of everyone you love having an amazing life without you.

There was a point where I took Ozempic(Semaglutide) like 3 years ago before it was really popular, and although it was miserable and mostly a waste of time, it did actually rewire my urges and I cut down on my level of drinking and drug use quite a bit. It basically pulled me out of my habits of always wanting to be social, which was keeping me from reaching a lot of my goals in business and in the gym.

Now about 3 years later, I'm absolutely killing it in the gym and in my business. Wouldn't say life is as fun, but it's definitely more fulfilling. And also I cut out some of my longtime friends, which felt really shitty at the time but it was definitely for the best.

Now I find it very easy to stay in shape and also avoid the jew lifts like deadlift and squats that destroy your back.
I don't think jews work out though? I agree deadlifts are shit, but why squats?

I took steroids very young and built a physique far beyond my natural baseline.

Even after losing muscle, I regain size much faster due to muscle memory and the long-term adaptations from past steroid use.

Would you ever claim natural in a natty bodybuilding contest now that you’ve been off for some time?

I had a breakthrough in my late 20s when I realized I was a passenger in my own life and despite achieving many impressive things I was not happy with my circumstances.

I got really sick after having glandular fever in my late teens. I was weak, depleted and exhausted all the time, so I made it my mission to get better. Started lifting, everything I ate had a purpose to fuel me and sustain me. Slowly started to get better and never looked back.

Are you looking for inspiration for yourself or...? I always liked exercise, and I've at least understood the important and didn't struggle *that* much (even if I've never been crazy strict). I suppose I didn't get into lifting until my shins were fkd to run, but I imagine I would've gotten into lifting at some point. I hope so at least - I really feel lifting has been a very valuable experience, and I struggle to understand how it isn't more prominent in running programming.

I'd be closer to saying I'm addicted to exercise than anything though, so a "breakthrough point" feels confusing for me to consider. Maybe breakthrough points here in there in terms of how much I'm progressing but certainly not in terms of applying effort.

I’m curious about what motivated other people to get their sh*t together

Bodybuilding isn’t my thing and I’d never enter a contest but if I did enter a contest I would simply take the required drug tests, pass them and then simply not mention my steroid use 15 years ago.

When I first started lifting I knew nothing about diet, when I started eating a healthy diet it all changed.
