Tell them you identify as black. That generally gets you off the hook for murder. Might apply to speeding tickets too.

You want to plead not guilty. This way the prosecution has to prove their case. It opens the door for negotiations for a lesser charge, reducing fines and not ending up on your record.

You'll do fine, good luck!

250 bucks might be worth it to contact a traffic attorney.

My friend is using a traffic attorney for their ticket that is 23 mph over the limit and the attorney only charges 250. The ticket would be about the same cost but the problem is that car insurance rates would soar when they see how high the speeding was, but the attorney can get it thrown out or reduced to a non moving violation, it will literally save a few thousand dollars over the next five years by avoiding the insurance increase.

for 12mph over idk how much insurance would care, you can try asking AI for your city/state and insurance and see what it says

I simply do not understand how this is even a question.

It is a fact, that it is in your best interest to evoke all of your civil liberties when it comes to conflict with the government.

Make them prove it. Every single time.

If he used radar, get the required calibration card and documented calibrations tests. If he paced you, get his vehicles speedometer calibration certificate. They might not have these and their “evidence” is irrelevant.

You should first call the prosecutor and see if they would be willing to make you a deal. Obviously, do not admit guilt during this process. Many jurisdictions will work with you if the offense was not that significant, and you have a clean record. What that would look like is something like you pay the fee and take a two hour training course online, and it will be processed as a non moving violation that stays off your record.

If you plea no contest, you will pay max amount allowable by law and it will effect your driving record.

If you fight it, it could get thrown out or the consequences decreased.

I do not have law enforcement hookups and I have had tickets thrown out by simply speaking with the prosecutor before the court date.

This practice is also great personal development concerning assertive communication and conflict resolution.

Good luck bru

Its all a scam the attorneys all know each other. So you pay the traffic attorney and he knows the judges, cops ect, probably hangs out with them, probably in the same frat as the judges ect, so he will just straight up ask them to reduce it without really providing a defense, will probably say its your first ticket if thats the case and to cut you some slack and they will reduce it for him being there with no real defense but if you ask the same thing on your own they will tell you to get fucked

its just how it is

Don’t listen to this idiot.

Plead not guilty. The likelihood of the police showing up does not change based on your plea. If you plea no contest, the cop doesn’t even need to be there for the judge to decide you did it.

It won't. Always plead not guilty when it comes to a speeding ticket. 9 times out 10 they're gonna knock it down and reduce the fine. I worked in the insurance industry for years and this the way you want to go. You don't need an attorney for something like this srs.

I would advocate expectation management.

It may “go south” in that the cop shows up with all his documentation and you could receive max penalty. I don’t think that will happen. But it could.

The most important thing is, don’t base your defense on fear of the process or uncertain anticipated outcomes. Just give it everything you got, do your best, and do not have an emotional attachment to any specific desired outcome come.

You literally cannot lose

auto insurance has access to the outcome

12mph isnt super high so that might be ok.

my friend got an attorney for 250 for a 23mph over ticket and expired registration. They already have high rates from a hit and run insurance scam.

the thing is i'm 90% sure the cop lied about me speeding. I dont even think I was even going 30. the reason is I had just turned and there was a red light upon me turning so for me to floor it and get up to 47 doesnt even make sense. he also told me that is where he clocked me speeding and then pulled me over several street over and after I turned on another street. also him saying "i have a special device that only I have" was a huge red flag. I asked him if he was the sheriff and that's why "only he has the device". He wasnt obviously.
