That thing has 8g. Ram, my laptop from 2015 has the same, I would prefer 16gb or even 32 but of course the prices are high for 32

I also prefer Lenovo. Thinkpad if possible I like their keyboard best

That one has a touch screen which I like for laptops as I use it now by habit. If you're always on a desk not as important

On a bed or couch then I want touchscreen

If I had 8 million I would probably be getting a Thinkpad, it's probably around 1.5-2k, 32gb ram and high end screen and it would last probably 6-10 years
Unless local AI Becomes a thing then there will be newer processors for it

hes approaching 60 so idk if he wants to learn something new. apple is decent but they dont have touch screens which is a no go for me but my personal laptops are for just browsing on the bed or couch, so mine is a 10 year old thinkpad with a touchscreen. i actually searched to upgrade but for some reason they went back to 1080p screens for a lot of them and im not paying 2k for a brand new one.
