I was always taught that if you go looking for trouble, you're bound to find it. Also taught the best self defense is to not put yourself in a position that can lead to something like this. If I don't like someone or I think they are trouble, I have as little to do with them as possible. This has been many times multiplied since I started carrying.

When I started carrying, I took a legal class because the gun seller was a pretty cool shop that offered it to new gun owners. Anytime a weapon, especially a firearm is brought into a situation, it's a bad thing, so don't bring it in there unless the situation is already bad. Don't pull it unless you intend to use it, and only use it if it's a last resort to save yourself or someone else from bodily harm or death. Also, it looks best if you can prove that you did everything you could to try to not use deadly force. Once you shoot someone, the chitshow starts. Anything that makes you look bad is going to be magnified.
