The National Origins Formula limited yearly immigration to a total of 3% (later 2%) of the population of whatever foreign born ethnicity was already in the country. Total immigration was later capped at 150k, and the proportional formula remained. If you're goal is a homogenous population for the US, this wouldn't work in 2026. Even in 1965 when this formula was abolished by Hart Celler, the country was over 80% white. Currently we're under 60%.

A national origins formula as a replacement would not work, but a targeted immigration formula that prioritizes likelihood and willingness to assimilate and contribute would be great. Skilled, able-bodied persons who can learn English and are willing to work and conduct their business in English should be the target. I don't have a problem with people speaking their native tongue in their personal lives, but government documents and products sold in stores should only have English on them because that's this country's language. New admitted immigrants should be able to work and provide for themselves and any dependents that they may bring into the country with them (spouse, kids, elderly relatives, etcetera). I've argued before on misc that immigrants shouldn't be eligible for welfare until they have worked and paid into the system for 5 years.

Birthright citizenship should also be modified. I can see the intent of the original law as beneficial, as well as if say a couple were working here on visas and something happened to them, then the kid is kind of fucked. But the current law allows people to abuse it and come here pregnant just so their kid is automatically a citizen. I would also argue that we should abolish asylum which is also abused. Many immigrants come here trying to claim asylum where there were other countries they passed through to get here where they easily could have settled. If kept in place, asylum should be temporary until they find another safe place to go, or until they can fulfill the other requirements for new immigrants discussed above.

That hasn't been proven but if true, some came here long before others.

When it says "whomever" it means that current person, not "my great great great grandaddy". Only one nation I know of does generational accountability and that's North Korea. There, you do something wrong your grandchildren can spend their lives in prison or having to pay debts. Also the natives that were here when the Europeans got here were not the originals and had conquered that land from the previous people.

Immigrants in general, but particularly those from 3rd world countries and refugees are a huge negative. Consider what they contribute vs. what they will cost, it's not worth it. Somoli are the absolute worst of the worst. Even their children usually are complete failures.

Here is a fact, why would I want to live in a blue state? So I can pay more in taxes with no benefits for me, but helps people who don't even try? If the blue states did not help contribute, it would be a nightmare for you liberals as we would just cut benefits.
