Any Misc Mountain Bikers?

Had a thread back on newmisc about MTB, figured I would post one up here. Just checking to see how many mountain bikers are on the misc?

I just had my first ride in about 4 months. I have been dealing with a knee injury that has now gotten better (PT and Meloxicam). Went around my "home trail" for 7 miles and about 800ft of climbing, hit a couple of kicker jumps and did a couple drops. Everything felt strong. Cardio is at about 75% of what it was at the end of last year, but I suspect it will come back quickly. I look forward to riding more.

I am riding an Ibis Ripley AF (120/130), more geared towards down country riding but I huck it through everything. Next bike will be a proper 160mm suspension bike.

Hey man as long as you get out and enjoy it! I miss biking around town with my friends going from bar to bar. Much less of that these days.

I ride quite a bit of road and gravel. My mountain bike is pretty old, was thinking about getting a new one to get back on more of the deeper trails that I can't get to on my gravel.

This is pertinent to my new interests.

I just bought a Scott Scale 965 on closeout (frame: xxl). I pretty much only intend on riding it around town and maybe some light trails. My only concern is it holding my heavy ass lol

I know nothing about Scott bikes either (growing up Specialized was the brand to have), but felt like I didn’t want to spend a fortune for something I don’t intend on being too hardcore with.

Nice, I have a Scott Addict 20 road bike. I don't know why I bought it, maybe wanted to be a little different than all the other Trek and Specialized riders. I love it though, hope you like yours too. My gravel is a Specialized though but got it from someone I know for next to nothing.

Hell yeah man! I had a Rockhopper when I was a teenager that I thought was pretty bad ass (way before front suspension was even a thing lol), so I assume having some form of front suspension and disk brakes will be a big upgrade for me.

Edit: lol, just looked up the Addict and wtf man? You must be serious or I just don’t know fukall about bikes because that thing is bread! Looks nice af!

Rent one or see if a shop has a loner. I was a gravel bike guy (Giant Revolt) for a couple of years but the call to the wild was too strong and I jumped in. I got a loaner mountain bike and it was thrilling to blast through my local trails on a modern mountain bike. Bought my mountain bike the day after and never rode my gravel again lol.

You are getting close to its advertised weight but I would still trust it. Tear up greens dude, some of the most fun I have ever had were on greens just low stress cruising. Your weight is not helping you on the climbs.

BC has some world class mountain biking. Plenty of places to rent an amazing bike, take a lift up to the top of a mountain, and cruise down. I never seriously rode dirt bike (ripped a few with friends growing up around the neighborhood) but I see the appeal after mountain biking. There is a deep satisfaction that I get for when I am out aimlessly riding my bike, discovering new trails and pushing my boundaries.

I did that a lot back in the 90's and loved it. Exploring new trails was always epic. My knees are probably too far gone at this point though. now Im sad. :(

I like Knolly bikes.

I ride a Rocky Mountain Instinct eMTB. Sad to admit I have only been out once this year. My kids sports and other activities are insane right now. I think I have a lot more time in June and I plan on getting out once a week and hoping to hit some epic trails nearby as well.

I went from a Commensal Meta HT, then a Pivot Switchblade to what I am riding now. I do not get to ride a ton so I figured an ebike is a good fit, as my cardio will not be great for hardly riding.

E-Bikes are extremely popular for a reason, you can cover a ton more ground with less effort. Maybe rent one and see how it goes?

Peddling around the city is its own type of fun. Im all for it. Jersey has a bunch of MTB options if you hop over the river.

Take a trip to somewhere new with your bike! I guess I am spoiled that within 2 hours of me I have 4-5 great, if not world class bike parks. Along with a ton of mtb infrastructure.

Get out and enjoy the time! Do your kids ride at all? I only have a 2 year old right now, its somewhat easy to slip out for a few hours. When we have the next kid, I suspect that ill be out less.
