I think people need to know their rights according to the law and have the ability to advocate for themselves.

I would advocate for employees to unionize as an extreme last resort to help combat a manipulative corporation.

The reverse is also true, I have worked for predominantly unionised organisations my whole life and the amount of completely useless lazy cunts that I have had to work alongside while getting paid the same is absolutely atrocious. Some of them even manage to get promoted ffs, it's mind blowing srs.

There is very little incentive to work harder and smarter when all you get is corpo pats on the head and lip service for your efforts.

These useless cunts bring the culture of the whole workplace down, especially in the last 20y as we have had more HR involvement and work cover claims for psychological skyrocketing.

Basically accountability is down and it is near impossible to get fired where I work, I am in lower leadership and dont even bother writing people up for a lot of shit because its a complete waste of my time and effort. I only really bother with the really egregious stuff and that goes nowhere for the most part.

I appreciate what Unions have done for the workforce in the 20th century, probably the 19th century too that paved the way for the labour laws that we consider normal today, and I do indirectly benefit from the enterprise bargaining that the Union for my organisation negotiates (I am a non member), but I still think I am worth more than most of my colleagues and could easily negotiate a higher wage for myself if that were an option.

Without them going forwards though , the average worker would be fucked imo.
