Where are we in the "Good Times Create Weak Men" timeline?

Are we at peak weak men, or did we peak in 2020 summer of love, or are we not there yet? Is it going to get worse before it gets worse?

I here at work, fixing a problem someone else created. Instead of making this person fix their own mistakes, the let him wash his hands of it and now it's my problem while he continues to work. When I was in his position, I had to fix it for no extra pay and if I didn't, I lost my job. The worst part is the attitude and ego of this guy. He didn't do anything wrong. Things just went badly. Not his fault. Doesn't want to hear about it anymore. Another guy, destroyed an engine by using an impact gun on the cam sprockets with nothing holding them, the valves all crashed against the pistons destroying the heads and pistons. When he was doing the job, we told him that if he wasn't sure to ask and instead "I've done this before" and acted like he thinks he knows it all when he was just an oil changer a month ago. What's more is he just denies he did anything. I think he should be shown the door not for his mistake, but for the attitude. I hear that the only reason I have this position is because of paperwork, because I can pass a test, and he could but he gets nervous when testing and can't get the questions right. One good thing about a real recession is it weeds out the weak. Gen Z/A never saw a recession. Covid everyone got pampered. Things can't continue like this. It's going to implode eventually.

Firstly, it's not that good times create weak men or that hard times creates strong men. The proportion stays roughly the same at all times. It's that weak men can hold onto power during good times, hard times can be chaotic times and during chaotic times, things reset and strong men have the opportunity to rise to the top.

Even though life is getting worse for the average person, there is no chaotic social upheaval going on and the same weak men are still in power so we are still currently in the "good times" phase.

Secondly. That reset dynamic was how things have been for most of human history. But with the progress technology has made, resets could potentially not happen anymore and if you're not already in the wealthy and powerful class, you're fucked no matter your personal strength or ability.
