Is it gay for a man to GARDEN?

I srsly want to try but I don't want to look like a phaggit out there pulling weeds and I never hear men sitting around talking about their veges. Any1 actually do this?

Gardening's pretty gay. Just buy a John Deere lawnmower and tell everyone you're micro-farming. Sounds both modern and straight.

Hell nah. If I owned land I would definitely grow my own food. My mom’s boyfriend has a huge yard full of tomatoes, strawberries, oregano, mint, all types of medicinal plants. Dude is kind of a hippie. He grows his own grapes too.

Just don’t call it gardening and you’re gucci, mane.

My wife and I garden and we love it. When we retire in a few years and move to Europe, my wife hopes to get a volunteer spot with the National Trust in England as a gardener.

We are going to Provence next month for the lavender harvest and tour gardens in the South of France and Monaco.

If you have YouTube, ROKU or Samsung TV check out Monty Don's channel. That dude is gardening and crushing hoes all over the UK.

I grow vegetables, planted my tomatoes, squash, carrots, strawberries, blueberries and peppers. My wife is doing a lot of Zenias, Peonies, Lavender, Lilacs, roses, carnations, etc.

Men are supposed to plant, water, and harvest. Women and kids are supposed to pull the weeds (semi serious). Hope that helps.

We do a garden every year and just got everything in last weekend. Peas, spinach, and carrots are doing great. Beets are doing fine. Lettuce didn't start well for some reason.

loled. Maybe you're right. My first thought was I'm just a trash gardener. Carrots came up better than expected this year. Peas too. Seems like it's something every year. Beets were subpar actually now that I think about it so I guess this years failings were beets and lettuce. Replanted last weekend though. It's late for lettuce but the beets should be fine.

Might be something with the soil. Explains some stuff doing really well and others being a bit meh.

Or weather, it's been an oddly cold spring near me interspersed with patches of extreme heat.

We had a couple hard freezes right when the beets were coming up. They're pretty hardy after established a little but the fresh shoots are more tender. Lettuce should have survive though. Those are all in raised beds that I've grown stuff in for years, adding compost to top off the boxes every year. Anything's possible, but we've been doing it for a bunch of years and have a pretty good system figured out. Usually, it's cold that gets me. Or it gets hot and I forget to water.
