Fuck all has happened. Fuck all will happen. This war is unironically the gayest war of all time because everyone is talking about how they want to fight, but don't actually want to.

Trump does not want to expand the war because the only thing he can do is escalate to a ground war, which would be unpopular in America. Iran does not want to expand the war because they know they are outclassed by the US military, and they do not have the religious zeal they claim to, in order to die fighting. Both sides want to look strong, so they keep playing down the ceasefire violations as being defensive and proportional in nature.

We have a weekly dance where Trump says that Iran wants a deal and is close to a deal. Then we have these ceasefire violations that are played down. Then Iran says that they aren't willing to negotiate due to 'unrealistic' American terms about nuclear material, the Strait of Hormuz, and sanction relief; despite backchannel talks via Pakistan. Trump says that Iran better sign a deal or he's going to press the big red button and we'll see the US military back and harder than before. Then the weekend comes and Trump says he'll call off the US military since Iran is close to signing a deal.

This has been happening for what, 8 weeks now? Then we all get fucked at the pump for it.
