Should your wife always have better than you -- car, ease of job, clothes, etc?

Is this blue pill thinking or actually true? I know a lot of blue pills who will kinda brag about catering to the wife and making sure their queen has everything better than them.

My exes bro in law would put his woman (220-240lbs...but that's after kids) in a new Suburban or something every few years while he drove an older truck...new appliances/furniture/house/(lots of $300+ pocketbooks) also because she would get unhappy after a few years. They'd move into a new "better" subdivision and she would want to match those folks on everything and then in a few years want to outdo them which required moving.

I dunno i mean when we go to a new restaurant and she's stuck between picking two plates. I'll tell her to order both and i'll eat the one she likes less. but other than that kinda shit... no.. i'm not randomly buying her gifts like expensive hang bags and ect... but i lucked out in that she's not really into that sorta shit... and if she wants a new car, she can buy it and pay for it herself.

I'm guessing a woman that's competitive like that will get settled in/accepted and after a while want to one up the other women. Moving to a better 'hood than them may somehow kinda prove she's more loved/special (she's been a stay at home mom since around 20).

Depends on the reasoning.

If you’re doing well financially and wife is being a good wife, taking care of you, taking care of the kids, fulfilling her role there’s nothing wrong or cucked about wanting to do more for her too. A relationship doesn’t have to be adversarial or tit for tat.

But if you’re miserable slaving away to fulfill the “happy wife, happy life” lifestyle, that’s a cucked problem

In many of these relationships I wonder what happens if hubby says what they already have is good enough so more materialistic just seems kinda frivolous (even though they could afford it/hubby could strive more to make more money). Could this be where some women start to feel like "he doesn't have ambition"?
