I’m not a dog owner but I’d like to think I’d fight. There were a few points of that video she seemed close enough that I was expecting to see her kick it in the face. Possibly an awful idea though.

That bear seemed to be teetering between fight or flight so you’d like to think making a stand would convince it to leave

Made my palms sweaty/spaghetti. Had a black bear fake charge me during turkey season. Had a young one pretty far up behind her about 50 yds away from the trail i was on. I made sure to slide 2 more shells into the shotgun but shit can go south in a hurry if one decides to go all in. I'm glad it was open woods and i saw her tho. It's the ones that you don't see that im really worried about

I felt concerned for the dog in the video. She should've had bear spray, and she should've used it right away. Though she did the right thing yelling at the bear. Supposedly shouting and making yourself look bigger can scare them off.

tbh what saved her is that it was a young bear....if it was older wouldnt' have second guessed itself....charged and then eaten her dog ...then her ....alive.

btw: saw a full grown grizzly in alaska from a distance....theyre about as big as volkwagen beetle fully grown i think.

I used to dirt bike to this location called the plane crash . One time I went from Star Creek to York Creek on the very precarious trail . As I’m getting closer to York Creek these two huge grizzly bears were on the trail running just ahead of me .
Being the dumbass that I am I chased them and was probably 10 feet behind them lol . I’m surprised one of them didn’t turn around and take me out , but luckily they don’t seem to like the sound of 2 strokes .
Anyways I get to York Creek and where the trail comes out it has an open meadow . I turn my bike off and the grizzly bears had stopped just inside a tree line . One was on his hind legs sniffing the air and I lost sight of the second one .
I’m like where tf did he go , and all of the sudden I see him going around the tree line so he could get behind me. I wanted to go to the crash site as there’s this glacier that’s there all year round and it has the freshest coldest water on earth . It’s in a basin which is a dead end , so I’m like fk this I’m out of here lol


Another story . A good friend of mine was camping in Banff in I think the late 70’s , early 80’s . Just two tents away a couple were killed by a grizzly bear . He said their screams haunted him for the rest of his life . Not a pleasant way to go srs
