Supergirl flops at box office

Opens at an estimated $68 million -$38M domestic and $30M international

Budget is listed as $170-200M. Studio was supposedly seeking at least $300M in theatrical gross

The $68M opening is comparable to Shazam 2. It puts Supergirl on pace for about a $130-150M finish, depending on its legs

Yeah not a surprise. The fact that Superman didn't really blow the roof at the box office was a red flag. The Batman films will be fine since Batman always has a great shot at profiting at the box office. It's these other DC films that should start having all these execs rethinking shit.

The actress just doesn't look right for the part. And some of her obnoxious comments didn't help. People started getting shades of that annoying latina that played Snow White. This film was dead on arrival.

Dunno why they thought a female hero movie was a good idea when they have pretty much all underperformed

reboot DC movie verse with superman, great idea. Then immediately follow it up with temu female superman... Bad idea. No one's interested, let us know when batman or green lantern comes out.

Went and saw Toy Story this weekend with my kids and it was fantastic.

Would not waste money on Supergirl. Have zero interest in a female led superhero movie.

Never saw Black Panther 2 or The Marvels either for the same reason.
