Looking good Drew. I lifted this morning with my son again. It was a good day for me, but he had a summer running practice yesterday evening and had no mojo this morning, lol. After the first couple sets at his planned weights, I stripped off weight and had him focus on form because I could tell it wasn't happening for him today.

A couple of my kids really want to do a trail run this summer that's around 15 miles. I don't really like running, so that would be a long one for me. I've been putting off training for that, but my kids go back to school mid-August, so I guess I need to buck up and get serious.

I like those lumberjack style core rotations you were doing with the band. I do them on the cables to get good core engagement.

About to hop in the shower and go do legs. Waiting for the lunch rush to end.

I can already feel the endorphins. It is going to be righteous.

Same. Not a runner. I’ll put in my time on the recumbent bike. 😂

Good luck with that.

I’m trying to do more things that aren’t just front/back. That’s why I’ve been doing some lateral jumping/agility drills as well.

Hit limbs this morning, tweaked my knee earlier in the week so today I added a bit more rehabilitative focus on my quads. Shoulders and arms blocks completed without incident

i would hold for a half second longer to try and make a better mind and muscle connection

squeeze harder to force more growth, more blood for fuller and rounder muscle bellies

are you completely resisting and controlling the weight or just moving the weight?

but not bad brah

If that’s working for you, then keep it up.

I’m happy with the results I get from my technique.

And tbh I reject the mental masturbation so many people in 2026 subscribe to with respect to exercise technique and selection.

Did you tweak the knee lifting or some other way?

I almost never do anything for traps directly, but on the rare occasion that I do, I definitely do it on back day after rows and pulldowns.

Hack squats on the sled, believe it or not 😆 Tried doing it your way, didn't work, went to my usual way and tweaked my patellar ligament. Now I only do the sissy-squat variant which ironically doesn't hurt at all

I didn't for years and did ok, but after adding them back for a bit the difference is huge

Gotta make up for lost time!!

Fuark yea. I look like you lifting. I think we have similar limb lengths and proportions. I haven't lifted consistently in a few months though so I'm less muscular and fatter.

This was getting me going during that time, inspired by Diamond Gym videos -

I just saw this young gal (maybe 20?) at my gym doing the rock climbing (small round grips) pull ups… she did like 10. Crazy impressive. And she’s hella cute. I was about to go high five her or something, but I put my weight down and she had vanished

Was she just a figment of my fantasies?

I don’t know but that’s definitely impressive as hell.

I used to work as a personal trainer in my 20s, and most regular/average women couldn’t even do a regular body weight squat, let alone pull ups. And especially with grips like that.
