I heard never apologizing is the new trend. Probably popularized by Trump

But what i like to do is actually apologize for no reason, then leave before an explaination can be given.

Usually some acquaintance who has a vague recolection they might have seen me before


Now they are left standing there confused and feeling guilty, racking their brain trying to figure out what they did wrong

Works great for negotiations in the future, because now they feel like they owe you something so you will get a better deal.
