do you think jerking off before a date is good or bad?

was watching the movie theres something about mary with cameron diaz/ben stiller and i thought it was interesting that the advice given in the movie before a date was to jerk off so that you dont care about getting laid as much- making you a better date??

i dont understand that, my game goes up the less i jerk off due to me letting the build up put me into more of a hunter mode.

does anyone actually do this before a date?
