wrong - most people that told me money means nothing are people who worked their ass off in the way of getting more and more money. they ultimately got sick and could do nothing with all their money. have enough to enjoy yourself but by no means sacrifice your health for it. ultimately - you cant even take it with you - so everything you cant spend in your lifetime is wasted effort. you owe nothing to anybody. sounds logical by itself, yet even today we have millions of kids coming out of college killing themselves to get 100+ hour jobs just to earn over 6 figures they cant even spend because they're in their office all day

I'm not rich, but I am debt free, have more toys then I really need, and a good investment towards retirement and I will say that money isn't everything. I do find that a lot of people who do think money will solve everything are poor themselves and use that mantra to justify working 60+ hours a week hating their life thinking at some point in the future they are going to "make it".

That sounds more like Christmas morning in the West tbh.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

I dont actually work in a cube(but do cube style work) and I didn't put the word successful in my post

all im saying is having money doesn't make your life better (maybe unless you started out living on the streets, even then I'm sometimes envious of hobos who just do what they want all day)

You can easily revert back to a 40k job... So why not be happy?

I'll give you my two cents on it.

You can achieve large financial wealth only to alienate yourself to a point you have no one to share the experiences with.

Network, build relationships, and work hard. These three all complement each other and money will be more of a "Bridge" in your joy/activities.

This. All the money in the world don't mean that much if you got no one to share the wealth with.
