Got mugged/robbed beat up in Cancun last night

2 guys (one at least 6.5ft) ran up on me and demanded my iphone, I refused and they start beating me up, stomping my head and ribs.

I passed out for a few minutes and roommate was down the street and came, many people surrounding me.

Medical care sucked, ambulance came late, and left. WTF> lol
Went to doc and he said come back tomorrow without looking too much.


Had concussion, black eye, cuts everywhere, ribs hurt.

Noise still bleeding


I had a bunch of funny videos for the misc too during my trip. I hope I can buy my iphone back somewhere. It was locked.


Questions,
can I still access my whatsapp, snapchat or anything else?

I was at cancun last month very safe around the hotel zone & downtown. Playa del Carmen is a bit out there so you take the risk..

Also the cops surprisingly found one guy and brought him for identifying. I thought it would be more problems if I do (cartel) and the cops could just let him go after I identify him and cause more problems so I said no. Plus I wasn't sure if it was him. He got happy and thanked me. -_- Making me suspicious. Roommate said it wasn't him......

maid broke into our safe in my hotel in cancun when i went for spring break stole all our phones - cops were like "hey its a big inside op there, good thing you have travelers insurance".. entire country is a borderline failed state you really shouldn't even travel with your phone or valuables if you can avoid it.

1) why aren't u staying in daylight tourist areas in mexico? (assuming ur a tourist)

Where exactly in playa? Like what part of 5th?

Edit:snap chat saves anything you saved into a cloud so you should be good there

Whatsapp you can back up your chats but it depends if you had done that.
