I’ve had issues with this new girl at work

She keeps stepping on my toes and questioning things that I do

I complained to my boss and now I’m in a meeting with both of them where he is basically forcing a confrontation

Is this normal? Tempted to quit

at 33 years old, I would expect that you should not be asking a forum full of geared up lifting bros (and reddit foreveraloners) for social advice. If you are tempted to quit your job over what you have described then you need a new, non wagecel job.

When I’m on the phone with customers this girl will be in the background telling me to ask their last name and ****, send out an email and she will read it and criticize what I sent out. This is an all day thing with her focusing on what I’m doing while not doing her own work.
I told my boss because we have a weird relationship but he shouldn’t have put me in an awkward situation.

Seriously, I've been in this position. After repeatedly asking a project manager to just do what's supposed to be done, going to the boss and asking her to keep it on the DL and coach her privately didn't work out. Fortunately, I wasn't the only one who had complained so the boss had my back, but yeah, it's awkward, and it's a minor abdication by management. It's not really your job to mentor your peer. That's life, tho. You're stuck with it.

On the upside, the project manager was hilariously nice to me after that, like, trying to bring me dessert at the company holiday party. If you have the upper hand because it's obvious what's going on, the conversation should go well.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

I don’t hate her, I just want her to focus on her own **** and let me do my job. And I definitely didn’t want my boss to basically tell her that I don’t like her in front of me. I told them both that I wasn’t interested in group therapy with the f word thrown in there.

Also, he could be handling it this way based on the HR policy of your workplace.

Small company, I would have handled this but he was pissed off at me when he hired her. Anyone hired should have essentially been there to help me but he hired her as my equal. So now he needs to deal with this.
