I get the point that it hasn't been on this level though. Truth is, Black Panther has always been a cool character and has had a cult/niche following beyond his race (but not in spite of it).

If anyone's ever read Marvel Zombies (where every Marvel Superhero is a zombie), he ends up being the sole superhero survivor and with an arm and leg missing, manages to lead the human resistance.

Just came back from Black Panther, people were crying at the end of the movie.

It was beautiful brehs.

the room was about 90% black, i don't want to drop spoilers but it's easy top 3 black movies of all time.
When the movie credits finished rolling a lot of us stood there just staring the blank screen, some people legit crying.

Some random dude said "We gotta do better family, let's all focus on us for now on" everybody started clapping and chit, it was powerful

But how popular were these superheroes compared to the white ones?

Was blade as popular as spiderman? Do all the kids of today know who blade is? Does everyone wear "blade" shirts, like how other people wear superman, batman, and spiderman shirts?

... but yeah white people need to stop complaining about Black Panther. He IS the first mainstream, current-era LEAD superhero in one of the two franchises that count (Marvel and DC and let's be honest DC doesn't really count). Like... come on now.
