Debate partner in class screwed me over. Wat do

- in an argumentation and debate class

- partner is a feminist whale

- I’ve missed the last 3 class periods because all we’re doing is watching other students debate. I saw the first 2 days of debating so i understand how the process works which is actually pretty straightforward. No point in going at all to watch more students debate, professor doesn’t even count attendance.

- my debate was next week and asked my partner when we could meet to start practicing and she sends me this:



Probably going to have to drop the class now. Should I send back something savage or just leave it?

Sometimes, giving the impression of doing the right thing is just as important. What conclusion was she supposed to draw by you not turning up? Put yourself in her shoes. The very least you could have done is explained to her why you weren't coming.

Go off on her, who does she think she is? Does she pay more tuition than you? Tell her its rude for her to assume you just missed class because you don't care, how does she know if you don't have something serious going on in your life. Tell her to save her false apologies and be straight up about it, shes not sorry and she should've talked to you before hand and let you know if she was concerned, or taken the initiative to ask when you two should start meeting up. Tell her its pathetic and cowardly that she didn't reach out to you and let you know she found a different partner and you're glad you aren't her partner anymore because it would've been hard to focus over her heavy breathing and terrible body odor. PS hit the gym once in a while, maybe then you'd be more confident about your grades and life in general

Though I think you both could have actually communicated about how you'd get this project done well before all this. Did you guys find out you were partners and not speak a word to each other? How do you even get to this point

Now if say, you both found out you were partners and were like "We need to do X and Y, so we'll start working on it about a week before it's due, should be plenty of time. Talk to you then." I would side with you.
