Has anyone done one meal a day intermittent fasting? (SRS)(AKA SERIOUS!)

-I miss the days when serious tags were respected-

I have no problem going extended periods of time without eating. Wondering if anyone had any experience doing this on a cut. I did it yesterday and I was completely fine. No insane hunger cravings or anything. Just used up all my calories in 1 meal around lunch. Now it's been about 20 hours since my last meal, and I'm on my way to the gym to workout.

What kind of progress did you guys see on IF ? Pros/Cons?

yeah i did this for like 5 days then couldn't keep it up. IF always works insanely well for me for like 3 weeks then i can't keep it up anymore. mentally fatiguing. definitely do it for a few weeks tho

Yes, I only have a 2 hour gap and eat healthy food like a pig, then I stop. It's very beneficial for me since I concentrate on other activities during the day and then my belly looks prego and I feel that I ate a ton even if I basically gorged on lettuce and chicken and low cal popsicles

Yep. I get up at 4a, dont eat until 5/6p. One large meal. Energy through the roof once you are used to it.

how does this work when you're consuming 170-200g of protein in one go
isn't there a maximum rate of absorption or has this been confirmed broscience?

it's the easiest diet for me, only way I can have abs year round

otherwise it's a struggle eating <2000cals a day and not be hungry when I sleep

8pm seems to be my sweet spot to eat, along with a couple large coffees during the day

I do OMAD every noon totaling 700 calories. Lost 17 pounds within the last 6 weeks. Stomach gets used to one meal and low calories. I eat balanced macros and have enough energy for the gym.

IF is nothing more than a behavioral/psychological diet. I've been doing it for the better part of 4 years now. It's not going to magically give you insane results.

Def helps on cuts tho. Usually just have a lunch and then dinner that night.

I can easily do a 24 hour fast if I wanted to. Just generally don't have any desire to unless I went full potato on a binge or something, which rarely happens. Just drink some water and maybe a diet soda once you're 16+ hours in. Caffeine helps too.

I've been doing it since last fall. So far I'm down 35 pounds and feeling pretty good. It's easy and simple.

The biggest effect on body composition is caloric balance and macros, all other **** (like meal frequency) have very little effect, book of reference : renaissance diet.

Although for performance it's better to focus carbs / protz around training (pre / post)

Never tried 1 meal. I do an 8hr feeding period, mostly for convenience. Idk if it really does anything for me performance wise.
I can't imagine eating enough calories in one meal to satisfy my daily requirements though. Stomach would probably burst.

Honestly some days when I am not even thinking about it, I don't have my first meal til 5-7pm... I figure if I can do that, than maybe I should give IF a go for cutting.

I feel with a couple coffees it will be even easier.

I'm going to keep a log in here to keep track and anyone curious can watch along to see how it works.. This is day 2 of my one meal a day

Starting stats:
Sex: Male
Height: 5'9
Age: 31
Weight: 169LBS

DAY 1 (March 12th)

White spot bigger better chedder burger meal with Yam fries + diet coke

Just got back from the gym... I haven't eaten anything for 23 hours roughly.. I still have tons of energy even though I just worked out hard for an hour. Will probably try and wait til 3-4pm to have my meal for the day, so I can slowly push it to 5-7pm meals every day.

Serge Nubret did one meal a day, albeit that meal consisted of beans, rice, and 4 pounds of horse meat.

Damn. Well. I know IF is good for weight loss and I do the same thing right now. I start work at 430am and get off 1pm. Then I eat a snack and go to the gym. When I come home I basically devour my calories in one meal. I love it. Like it when you get used to it also . Try it out. See how it works

Auto****y is stimulated the longer the fast.

Also, easier to maintain a state of ketosis for those doing keto.

cutting easy-mode = abusing stimulants during the day in order to stuff themselves pre-bed.

your face/stomach will also look better/tighter during the day in a fasted-state. there's so many benefits

I'm backwards, for me the first 3 weeks is hard then it's easy from there. I only get hungry during the same time each day like clockwork. It's bruitiful.

2nd this. But wtf 1500 cals lol @ chitty lifestyle. Be active so you can eat more even tho its the same thing there is a point where you need more cals just for nutrients sake.
