Lifting less = more gains

Lifting 3 days a week is plenty. I think anything more as a natty is counterproductive. More rest. More energy. More gains. Feels good man

Feels good man. Body feels more rested. Not cross training. Overall just feels good to only lift 3 days a week.

I don't lift for strength anymore. 250 was my max but i'm cutting and will remain under 15% bf. No point in being above that, and the lifts will come back eventually

Yes. Why would you work out 5x a week and cross train and lose gains and get tired? Sure anyone can lift 5+ times a week but there is no point.

Depends on your goals. Depends on volume x frequency x intensity. It depends on your body type.

If you are an ectomorph, you should train more frequent. Body type plays role. If you are a natty and you powerlift, I think 3-4 days is ideal. Rest on the other days. I had great success with both of those, while my success wasn't as good with 5-6 days in terms of strength. If you are looking to be fit and look good, more days would be more beneficial. Undulating periodization would be a great tool.

It's not black and white like that. That type of thinking is more of a negative than a positive.

Upper/Lower split is optimal imo. 2x each muscle group weekly, and great amount of rest inbetween. The body is adaptive though, I know nattys that train legs everyday and squat 4+ plates.

Protein synthesis anyone? Dat there 48 to 72 hour window for nutrients? Keeping that nutrient window open by training the same muscle 2x a week?
Guess nobody heard of these before.

I go on walks, cardio or hit lacking body parts on a 4th day if i get bored. I swear i lose gains lifting 5-6x a week. The body isn't meant to be going hard 5x a week if you ask me

So what routine are you on? Full body?

I'm on upper/lower 4x a week and I think it's a good compromise of gains vs free time

Dorian Yates only trained 4 days a week his entire career.

I love to be in the gym too much to take rest days lol

I am. 3-4 is good for me. Anymore and my upper gets exhausted and I have to drop weight. I’ve thought of doing 3-4 full then 2 leg days because I don’t have a lot going on and it wakes me up, but I go at 5am. The days I want to do legs I usually sleep in until I have to go to work haha.

I also play hockey 2-3 times a week in the evenings so 3/4 days of the week is okay with me
