my trailer is actually more spacious than I realistically need, for the most part big houses are very unpractical(unless you have a big family/ home business)

This is indeed true as many people who own trailers only owned their trailer and not the lot it’s sitting on.

However, I own the lot my trailer sits on, perfect of both worlds as I own my home at a marginally lower price and also escape the hamster wheel of always having to to pay rent for land

The insurance and energy costs are disproportional to what's provided. The structures are not as well engineered as most tract homes, and that's saying something. In areas where the largest constituent cost of a home is it's property, buying a trailer or manufactured home makes no sense. It's more expensive even in the short term for less quality. Those are the specific reasons I opt to never put my money into a manufactured home or trailer.

However, it has a corner of the economic market that no home can touch and that's housing under 50k in certain areas. If that's what you want or need, then it's a viable option especially if you want to live debt free. However, this is a case where "debt free" is often not the most intelligent economically IMO.

BRB paying 10k to put a roof on a 20k trailer ayy lmao
BRB Heating & a/c is like 250/ month for 1100 sq ft lmao
BRB insurance is still $100/month because it's chit build quality
BRB paying 80% of the costs but getting 40% of the product

Brb <3% of total cost of home, (given that material and labour cost a modest $300k) and pay less to no interest, and you are concerned with paying a little extra on maintenance on value ratio.

Let’s not forget the ability to save money easier in your youth, dat der compound interest.

Well, there are manufactured homes, and there are ghetto trash trailers, you live in the latter, and while being a manufactured home, a trailer is just no comparison.

I may be getting finessed, but I'm not "buying into a luxury condo on the beach* in a 3rd world country that's about to be the next Venezuela" finessed.

This is being said by someone whose family does in fact own land and property outside of the US, including a small hotel by the beach, and when I say by the beach, I mean 50 meters from the water.
