beat me to it. I mentioned this in another thread where fly-over stae miscers were bitch about California.

It would behoove everyone to try to live in a place like thatat leasttemporarily. There is no better way to network, gain work experience due to the abundance of jobs and simply have a good time in your 20's than to live in a large city. I'm so phuckin' glad I got out of the podunk town I came from. I know people from HS that still live in that 45k population city I came from and they have absolutely nothing going for them. Not because they're not ambitious, but becasue small towns like that offer literally nothing to someone that is young and trying to make a name for themselves....unless you're content with working as a grocery store clerk or in the sawmill your entire life. Chit is just depressing.

You can find faults in virtually every single major metropolitan city so LA is not special in that regard. Among other places i've been eyeing (Oahu), there are a couple of jobs I can apply to on the mainland specifically in the Seal Beach area.

i found the complete opposite- funny how that works. large cities offer literally nothing but pollution, crime, and stress. absolute pinnacle of a low quality life

I fukin hate LA. Orange County is nice but traffic is getting ridiculous in some parts. San Diego is nice but becoming overrun. Have considered moving down there though.

Honestly LA is great if you can afford it and you like city life. If you don't it wont be a great fit and no one here is upset by it. 3 1/2 years here and haven't looked back once.

meh. There's nicer places in SoCal. LA is cool for a week to see the sights, but lots of it is ghetto and over populated. not to mention the oil rigs, oil fields, and power plants that ruin its natural beauty
