What's everyone stopping for STOBTOBER ????(october) (positive thread)

Choose 1 or 2 things you want to quit, or start, and do it for the whole of October. Hell we could even motivate each other in this thread.

mine:

1) quit Coffee. Have about 4-5 cups a day. Chits not good for my anxiety.

Still thinking of a second.

I am going to stop masturbating/checking porn, for October at least. I haven't done a streak of more than 22 or so days this year, which is weaksauce.

Gonna stop setting up my next GF before I break things off with current(to be fair, current one doesn't seem to give AF).

October is my attempt to not jerk it. My longest stretch this year has been like 4 days. Eesh.

Anyone want to do sober October?

I'm not going full monk mode, I'm still going to drink caffeine and use nicotine but I'm not going to drink alcohol or get intoxicated from any substances for at least all of October.

Also if you drink a lot every day you probably already know but, it's a good idea to tell your doctor you're quitting so you can be monitored or maybe get anti seizure medicine.

If someone drinks a fifth of vodka a day for years there is a chance they will die if they stop drinking cold turkey. They usually want you to be watched for 3 days or more or at the very least have anti seizure medication on hand.

Yes I mentioned it because you can die from alcohol withdrawal. 1/20 that have severe withdrawal symptoms die.

No it was an example dammit. I just don't want anyone dying because they quit cold turkey. It is common knowledge but figured I would mention it in case.

I have a drink or two EVERY day. I'm not worried about my consumption level but I want to shake up the habit loop.

Should help me finish up this cut too. Leggooo

Wow, YOU. I am in too.

I haven't had alcohol in a few months, and I'll go October without it too. I won't even have beer during UFC 229.

I smoke (non-nicotine) daily and I will continue too, but it doesn't mess with your body like alcohol as far as I know.

You need legit treatment if it's getting to the point of needing to declare sober months under doctor supervision for withdrawl issues, not a misc thread.

I was drinking 17-35 drinks a day for over 2 years and quit May 30, 2014. Had horrible withdrawals and audible hallucinations for 3 days. It's best just to quit if you can't just drink 2-3 a day. Chances of major withdrawals increase the more you drink.
