Good evening misc, check out my most recent purchase (pics)

This is somewhat a follow up of this thread of minehttps://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/showt...rancher+rained
Purchased ~4,000 acres of grassland, officially closed on it last Thursday. This purchase should allow me to run roughly 200 more cows so it’s a fairly substantial addition.

This is the first dam close to the east boundary of the property.

The same dam from a different angle, taken from the spillway. These pics really don’t do it justice but I’m not much of a photography.

A view out of my windshield from up above the dam viewing the south end of the property. Shameless plug for the ranch and a bolo tie with my tribal seal on it. Unfortunately I’m way too big to pull off a normal bolo tie so it hangs from my mirror.

A shot to the east from the same location across a hay field, that’s my home you see in the background.

This is taken about 2 miles west, facing west, you can see a few cows way in the background. This is where I believe I will set up headquarters for the new place.

Same location facing south east, notice the rolling pine tree hills, just thought it was kinda pretty.

Shot of a few cows as I was pulling down into the second (and much larger) freshwater dam on the property.

Shot of the second dam facing east. Absolutely amazing bass fishing here, it’s been shut off from the public for about 20 years and very well stocked.

Same dam but this is shot from the north spillway facing south.

Here’s a shot of the ranch pickup as I was walking back from the spillway, 2018 Ford F-350.

Here’s the south border of the property, last pic of the day.

I kinda wish I could’ve gotten more pics of the cattle and horses but everything was being shy at the time. Hope you enjoyed my crappy photog skills, feel free to ask away.

I really wish I had a quality camera or at least had even a childs understanding of basic photography, the pics just don't tell the story worth a damn in my opinion.

Last I knew he hangs out at his casino in Deadwood from time to time, other than that I haven't seen him around these parts since I was 18.

Absolutely not! Trees provide valuable winter cover, and they're pretty. I fell a few here and there for firewood in the winter but I have absolutely no interest in the timber industry. As a rancher its my duty to be a steward of the land, not a parasite.

The first one in the pics needs stocked a little better but its not terribly large so winter kill is an issue. The second one is stocked extremely well with small mouth bass, perch, bull head, blue gill and sunfish. My uncle and I went out fishing there over the summer (after the purchase option was signed) and caught more than a handful of 6lb+ bass. Threw the majority of them back. I cant wait to try my hand there ice fishing this winter, fish taste much better pulled through the ice than caught out of a bass boat.

The black looking pine hills in the pics lead to a canyon that has been known for bigfoot sightings (seriously). A lot of the native elders here have a lot of different versions of various beings that reside here that the outside world are ignorant to. I realize a lot of it is probably just myth but theres damn sure some things that could use better explaining for my liking to be proven false.

I looked into attempting to buy a place in Aus back in '14 when land was a touch more reasonable for what I was interested in but at the end of the day there were just too many X factors for me to be comfortable with pulling the trigger on it.
