If you don't have a fun car/truck/motorcycle to and from work you're doing it wrong.
Nothing like a nice fun car with a good exhaust, trucks and motorcycles included. Doesn't have to be anything brand new off the lot or very fast, just something that's taken care of. You don't even have to spend a lot either, plenty of options for fun cars that won't break the bank or put you in debt. I see people in their Hondas and Teslas with their Starbucks and think damn those people look miserable.
Having a nice car is like a preworkout. there's no need for coffee, hell you won't even hit the snooze button because you're excited to drive. Not only is it a good stress reliever after work it's a good way to break away from the mundaneness. What better way to wake yourself up and feel alive than starting up your 02 Terminator Cobra?
As for long commutes and traffic jams, LOL time to move boyo. or Get a used luxury car with a good warranty.

OP is correct. I actually drive a full size truck and love mogging slowcels on the freeway when needed.

I have a F250 turbo diesel, intake, 4 inch exhaust and tune. Not conventionally fast, but for a 6000 lbs truck itβs fun, and the jet-like sounds are hnnnggg

Just lol if you put wear and tear and your car commuting to work. I've got a 76 Jeep CJ5 that's cool I guess. It's for weekend cruising and things like that. Why would I want to drive it on the highway or through downtown traffic?
Much nicer to hop on the light rail that's .25 miles from my front door or hop on the bicycle and get some cardio in.

Dude it snows half the year, I drive 20+ miles to work each way, and have to cross an international border. There is nothing "Stress relieving" about my drive, and it would suck even if I was driving a 918. All I need is a nice, comfortable, reliable car that gets me from point A to point B. I had a nice sports car before the one I have now, and there is literally no difference. I drive them both the same speed, and they both did the same thing.

I have a "fun" car (if you count fun as it trying to murder you at every blip of the throttle) but I commute 100 miles round trip a day.. Fk fun give me comfortable with a sound system that knocks harder than a Jehovah's witness

Logically speaking, cars are a depreciating asset and for most people will be the largest single source of lost $$ over their lifetime.
I've had Audis, BMWs and the whole lot. In the end of the day they did nothing a Honda couldn't do equally well (or better, frankly) at half the price.

Also unless you were driving base model European cars, then you can't equate those to that of a Honda. Better ride quality, better interior, better sound system, etc. And a Honda is typically boring, though I do hear they're trying to become more fun oriented.

I ride a bicycle most days. And when I don't I drive a super fuel efficient Japanese car that is easy to repair myself and rarely needs maintenance.

Ah, the ol' you need an awesome car to make your chit morning commute in stop-and-go traffic. Good luck showing us all up as you go to 0-60 in that 100 yards you need to merge. Everyone is impressed.
just lol if you don't live close enough to walk or bike, miss me with that commuting with the rest of the rabble

My commute is only 26 minutes and I take the back roads with little traffic and a good scenic view.
