Curry is actually BRITISH, not Indian
Curries are what happened when the Brits invented the term and introduced it to the rest of the world. The first curry recipe was published in a British cookbook in 1747. It was invented when the British combined meat and consistency with the spices in India.
Actual Indian food lacks consistency. It is normally just sludge with vegetables and spices mixed in, and then splashed all over someones lunch tray. It is more soup than an actual nutritious meal. To a westerner on a healthy diet, real Indian food will leave you feeling sick within hours of eating. At other times, someone may not feel sick until several days later. With mild cases, you will not feel sick for very long and will soon be feeling fine again. Diarrhea and a fever are almost a given however.
Ultimately you should steer clear.
