How crucial is squatting on leg day?

Maybe/probably just being a little bitch, but I dread leg day because of it. Got long, skinny legs and osgood schlaughters from growing so fast when I was a kid. Can’t get my squat past 185...lol sad I know. Is this enough to put on size for my poverty legs?

SLDL: 4x6-10
Leg press: 4x6-10
Hack squat: 3x6-10
Lying leg curl: 4x6-10
Leg extensions: 4x6-10

Hit standing calf press for 4x8-12
Sitting calf press for 4x8-12 twice a week for calves

Extremely crucial
If you say that you love me.

See you cryin' (cryin, cryin').
Oh, Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I,
See you cryin' (cryin, cryin')
Feelin' all alone without a friend
You know you feel like dyin' (dyin', dyin').
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I,
See you cryin' (cryin', cryin').
See you cryin' (cryin', cryin').
I want you to want me.

The question you should be asking yourself is "How crucial is doing leg day without squatting"
Stats:

5'7 165 lbs

The hype around squats and deadlifts has grown to mythical levels in the past 5-6 years.

I stopped doing both, not a single phuck given.

I normally do squats + 3-4 accessory exercises for everything else.

The other day decided I'd do 10x10 squats. lel, best leg workout i've ever had.

I do if there's a squat rack available, never know at LA fitness in January. If I do leg presses first I usually skip squats, but never skip SLDL

This.

I tried to abandon squats, but it wasn't the same. Switched to high bar ATG. The weights are lower, but my quads have never felt more of a burn of leg day. Maybe change up the way you squat?

I quit some time ago, too quad dominate + sitting at a desk 8 hours a day. Knees were hurting and I felt I wasn't getting anywhere.

What does sitting at a desk have to do with squatting and knee health?

If you're not going to squat, make the hack squats your main output. And add bands/reverse bands to make it a MUCH better exercise.

I enjoy squatting, so I do both. But I could make the argument from a growth perspective, heavy banded hacks are > a traditional barbell squat. Yes

Everything iirc. Sleep/weak glutes = sht squat form. And I have Anterior pelvic tilt

I'm subbing in lunges for now and will try contracting glutes during stiff legged deadlifts. Otherwise Idk how else to get glutes involved.

If squat racks are unavail, then wait around for one to open.

Squats should be your first exercise on leg day period. Dont worry about not getting past 185. We've all been at our sticking points. You'll get through eventually.

I hate them both tbh lol. Hack squat is always open for some reason, and there’s only two squat racks at my gym, so instead of waiting around for one to open up I’ll hit leg press, and hack squat first then won’t feel like squatting after my legs are already toast

For best results, I would recommend squatting... but it is not essential like some people make out.

I always hated leg press because it feels like I end up curling up and putting pressure on my spine. What is your squat form like?

Toes pointed out, wide stance. Go as low as I can and try not to use my lower back to lift the weight. Never recorded before, and have long ass legs so it could look goofy for all I know lol
