I know you can't deck someone for spitting on you and get away with it but spitting is considered assault itself and I don't know how that works for LEO's but I've seen them straight up piledrive people for spitting on them.

I think some of the stuff the guy was saying actually triggered him, like being a biatch in high school, fukin his wife..etc. being spit on just set him over the edge. Not saying he handled it right as a cop you need to show more restraint but he lost it lol.

The guy has no kind of respect for law enforcement and view the entire justice system as a joke (literally laughed at him and said "my lawyer is gonna have a field day with you"). He was provoking it in hopes of it all backfiring on the officer. If the cop gets any penalty for that, then thats exactly why scum like him thinks the justice system is a joke

Lol my gym bro that’s a cop killed a guy here about a week ago. The piece of sh!t fires on them 6 times and dude put 12 holes in him. It was reported that 3 of the 12 rounds hit his chest and one in the heart and dude was still returning fire.

The family: “They didn’t need to shoot him that many times”.

Pretty much this. Perp should get an assault charge and so should the police. Badge doesnt exempt you from assaulting others especially handcuffed.

Cant imagine him working out in the streets with that anger management.

Had patient before who would spit on people. Would have loved to knock him out like that but no we just wore masks.

He deserved a nice slap. But kneeing a cuffed person like that... I don't know man. It seems excessive and just not smart. The force used in the reaction isn't proportionate to the initial assault. Especially because he's handcuffed. Should have roughed him up restraining him in a way that would prevent him from spitting. For example,throw him on the ground, give him a good knock and ram your knee up his liver accidentally. Justice is served and it's done whilst preventing him from furthering his initial form of assault.

Because lets say the guy dies from this, which could have very well been the case. Hard thrusting knee to the face backed up against a wall and followed up by a punch. That's a ticket to the afterlife in more than one case. The officer would have gotten in deep waters. And rightfully so in a way. As a police officer you need to uphold the law and be above the behaviour of criminals. This is bordering on being a vigilante imo. Easier said than done of course. You just had a shetty week and this guy is giving you shet and you're in that position of power... Lapses in judgement happen.

tl;dr I understand the reaction, but it was too much and too risky of a move to perform. Cop should get a reprimand of some sorts, which he'll already get from the public outrage.

Looong time ago there was a vid of a guy ramped up on **Platinum Account Needed** running through multiple officers 9mm rounds, only thing that sat him down was a Sheriff's 357. MFers become mutants and the families say they are just misunderstood souls.

I don't know the answer for sure but I googled similar incidents and it seems to be a very fine line. Like punching a cuffed dude that spit on you brought charges but didn't always stick.

A flying knee to the face, follow up punch, and choke while saying, "WHOSE THE BITCH NOW!?" to a lifeless corpse may not pan out though so I think you're right.

One of my cop bro’s goes, “ever try to arrest someone on PCP? Yeah, I thought so”. People that don’t deal with this stuff just don’t get it...one can’t be nice or pleasant. That situation was one was going home and the other way not...half my bro won.

Funny if you're a criminal having no issues spitting on another man while being handcuffed, and crying about a little knee to the face after. Buhu. Yes he is paid to enforce the law, but in the end it was just another male with pride and dignity who got enraged and rightfully so. The scum wanted a reaction, and after trying for ten minutes got exactly what he wanted. Congrats
