Mind = destroyed that "Get Out" received such good reviews

Like holy crap, it was just plain crap. Shocked that even Chris Stuckmann gave it a B+. Seriously, how did this movie get such good reviews?

It was boring, super politicized and ran like a C level directorial debut. The overarching theme is overdone, dull and just made the movie difficult to watch at times. I just felt really uncomfortable at times watching it. I haven't watched it before last night, but I decided to give it a shot and I regret wasting 1 hour and 40 minutes of my life.

Seriously no better than a 5/10.

What's amazing about Get Out is that horror movie ratings are skewed 20-30% negatively to start with. So an awesome horror movie that may not be mainstream summer blockbuster type usually never breaks 7 or 8 out of 10 most places.

Get Out didn't do great with actual movie goer reviews but the critics sucked the movies dick non stop. The directors debut was a total novelty and apparently he wasn't able to create a decent movie after two tries.

I watch almost every single horror movie I can get my hands on and I don't think Jordan Peele is BAD at making horrors but they're not good. With that said though, any time a studio is willing to throw a bunch of money at someone that wants to make horror movies I don't complain.

Let's be honest, you don't like it because you think its pushing a political agenda you don't agree with.

Was it the best movie I've ever seen in my life? No. But it was definitely a good movie. Mind blown that people complain about this, a unique story, and not the 10000000 remakes and Transformers/CGI bs that clogs the theatres.

You are shocked that a major movie starring a black man with serious racial overtones was highly praised in this Social Justice Internet Age?

I liked it. It was a ripoff of Skeleton Key, but it was better than a lot of other sht that has come out recently.

I saw it the first week and I think the movie was much better if you had not heard anything about it going into the movie. prolly a 7/10 not a masterpiece, but for the genre it wasn't bad.

I felt it was overhyped as well, but it was still good.

Not sure what the race issue is as that was pretty much the driving force of the entire damn movie.
