Better than everything else. Basically all I watch since Hollywood stuff is basically all the same these days (Except for the occasional Wuxia film).

Anime plots tend to be more in-depth, and Anime also tends to have much better musical scoring.

Anime is GOAT

Like with most things, it's mostly chit. Anime encompasses a lot of genres. Saying you like anime is like saying you like live action dramas. The reality is that for every Breaking Bad there are 10+ shows that are unwatchable.

In the last 10 years or so, I've loved One Punch Man and Attack on Titan. That's about it. It doesn't help that a lot of anime seems to have both gotten much gayer while aiming at basement dwelling waifu lovers. I avoid most of it.

Mostly misunderstood as something for kids/weirdos. Not that I don't understand considering most of the popular stuffs are aimed at kids, like the triumvirate of Bleach/One Piece/Naruto. Haven't watched much lately cuz it's always a pain to go through heaps of trash just to find a few gems hidden inside, but when I do, they're always the cream of the crop that are so unique that you won't find anything similar in other media.

In fact, series like Akira, Gundam, Ghost in the Shell etc and movies like Perfect Blue, Garden of Words, Your Name etc are so unique that Hollywood has to attempt to copycat them.

I'd suggest Knights of Sidonia, available on Netflix and Black Lagoon

HxH is pretty GOAT. I think My Hero Academia might be what you're looking, although it's not nearly as dark as HxH.

HxH is really great, I enjoyed it, reminded me of yuyu hakusho which I loved, primarily before dark tournament but I enjoyed it all. MHA is also a good show, really been enjoying that one, looking forward to one punch man s2 and also I enjoyed recently Mob pyshco 100. It was excellent.

I also enjoyed fairy tail, Naruto, bleach, older animes when I was younger. Not bad shows though. I've seen all the gundams, anything mainstream. Cant say a show I really hated tbh. If doesn't catch me in a few episodes I typcically turn it off and leave it.

It’s pretty good. Was better than most Hollywood stuff. But alas, SJW infiltrating dubs. So subs over dubs now.

Mainstream anime is just supply and demand. A lot of it is for the neets & otakus. I read and watch mostly horror/fantasy/mystery so there is hardly any moe chit on it, but from time to time you will stumble upon a mix of it.

I don't like it. There's only been a couple I could stomach. Just feels like little kiddie bullcrap.

I did just watch all the death love robots episodes.

I liked most of the CGI ones but didn't really like any of the anime.

I'm not going to watch every single acclaimed anime, especially if the premise doesn't interest me or if the art turns me off. I've never seen The Wire either even though everyone says it's the best.

I do want to check out Full Metal Alchemist/Brotherhood when I have time though. I watched a few episodes of Death Note, and while I can understand the appeal, I stopped because I really couldn't stand the main character.

Another one I've wanted to check out but never got around to. I actually prefer the aesthetics of older anime. No CGI and less cutesy chit. That and nostalgia.

I don't really care for Gundam, srs. I know is one of the most main stream/known/"legendary" mechas but I didn't care for it. Studio Ghibli is is own thing, didn't think to mention them since they are now more Disney than anything else (btw I collect Ghibli films ♡) I just typed the first things to came to mind tbh, and parasyte & death note are somehow considered horror (?) by MAL. Have yet to see made in AbyssBeen reading most of anything else, just finished all Junji Itou works (re read a bunch) and binged I am a Hero ( highly recommend)

There's a chit load of good anime out there:

Megalobox
Hunter X Hunter
Berserk
One Punch Man
My Hero Academia
Samurai Champloo
Cowboy Bebop
Attack on Titan
Re:Zero

Even more than the above, just the ones that stuck out in my brain.

So yes Anime is great in my eyes, but I find myself swaying towards "real life" TV shows and movies more than anime.

The mecha arms were a weapon utilized by the many for the fighting tournament. It gives fighters extra strength and speed.

Joe's flair was to go against the norm and use only his natural arms, a weaker and riskier (but more maneuverable) tactic.

Joe climbed the ranks to reach the championship tournaments, continuing to be "gearless Joe." The expectation from the audience was that the "final battle" against Yuri would entail Joe fighting Yuri while Yuri was using mecha arms.

Yuri, being inspired by Joe, decided to remove the mechanical advantage, and fight Joe head on with his own ability. Joe ended up winning, but it showed an extra layer of depth regarding the plot and the principle of the show.

Joe had fought and strove without any equipment to stand out, and succeeded, with a surprising ending when the prior champion Yuri had reached a level of empathy and admiration for Joe to relinquish himself of his gear.

It's pretty clear from the final episode that Yuri would've won if he kept his gear, but the character relations, thought processes, surprise ending, and plot directions make the show a standout show in my eyes.

A lot of it is really cringey, and seems to be made with kids/teens in mind.

There are some gems though.

Cowboy bebop is a fuking amazing show, it’s an anime that doesn’t ‘feel’ like an anime.. If that makes any fuking sense..

If any of you have any recommendations on shows similar to cowboy bebop, let me know pls.
