I rent a room. Started at 400, but now pay 1,000 so the landlord doesn't have to rent to scummy people.
Next year it will be going up likely.
Just keep on going.

My rent is 5.7% of my gross base salary
Best lifts:
Bench press: 315x5

Total rent for the 3bed/2bath apartment I'm at is $1,400 a month.

My split is $494 a month, roommates pay $453 each. I pay more because I have the master bedroom (with private bath) and the garage for my car (which is a god send in the long winters).

Internet - $75 a month / 3 = $25
Power - Varies wildly depending on the month but the most I've paid in the winter was $40 per person

NOT looking forward to dumping half my income into rent

I'm living dat dere free couch surfing life atm. the new place I found is for a big ass 2dbrm from a friend of a friend in a really low-key area. its kinda suburbish but still in central San Diego. I'm getting a master bedroom, a walk in closet , my own fridge and my own bathroom for 1k. the other dude pays like 1300$ plus utilities I think. a really nice modern, spacious apartment but that's a steal in San Diego for the size unfortunately. lol at living near down town or north park and paying the same for a 10x13 ft room. plus parking isn't gonna be a hassle even if I can't fit my truck in my space.

its closer to the beaches and La Jolla/torrey pines anyway so I prefer it. gym is right down the street too.
