A black woman was shot and killed by a white police officer in her Fort Worth




A black woman was shot and killed by a white police officer in her Fort Worth, Texas home after a neighbor called dispatchers to report the woman's front door was open, police said. The officers were searching the perimeter of the woman's home when they saw a person standing near a window inside and one of them opened fire, killing her, Fort Worth police said.

I honestly don't understand why/how some cops have such a problem following basic procedure these days.... ESP in light of today's climate.

Why the hell wouldn't you identify yourself as a police officer??? You're not on a damn black ops mission...

Sameness thing happened in my town recently. Cops came to a house in the middle of the night because a silent alarm had gone off and the alarm company called them. Literally shining flashlights in this guys house (no blue lights or anything), guy thinks it’s burglars or something and is walking down the stairs with his gun and they blast him through the door. Just LOL if you think the cops won’t blast your azz in your own house. The cop that did it LIED about the whole thing and still got off scot free. It’s insane.

They do have to announce themselves, the 4th ammendment requires that. Secondly there is no evidence that she drew a gun they only found a gun in the house. The officers arrived and fired shots in less than one minute. There was wrongdoing, and the officer needs to suffer the consequences.

Came here to post this story and saw you'd wizarded me. Just blew somebody away from outside their own house without identifying themselves as police.

I had officers creep into my backyard at night once because my security system's water alarm was mapped incorrectly at the security company as a burglar alarm. Scared the absolute fukk out of me to have a cop pop up in my kitchen window. I understand why they do it, but if I'd been in the backyard and couldn't hear his partner at the front door, there were a lot of places I could have been standing where I would have been out of sight. If we'd caught each other by surprise one of us probably would have needed an ambulance before we realized what was going on.

I'm supportive of law enforcement, but mediocre officers aren't going to learn to find another line of work until the consequences get real. Maybe the laws need to be revised to clarify that this type of "mistake", shooting someone in their own home without warning, can be charged as capital murder. There are a few egregious cases out there where the gas chamber wouldn't be out of line at all.
