Is it just me, or are nurses REALLY milking this hard af?

my feeds are constantly filled with nurses pleading for sympathy (for themselves) and how they didnt sign up for this and that they are heros.

ok, but they literally did sign up for this. when you become a nurse you sign up to help sick people, even those on their death beds, and yes, even those who are highly contagious.

Ive never once heard a person in the military, who experienced combat and claim they didnt sign up for it.

I truly respect the profession. Soldiers, good teachers, good nurses+surgeons, firefighters, ect ect deserve maximum respect, but im over this. 90% of nurses are not in the high-risk bracket and most hospitals are now way below typical capacity.

i swear people these days simply cant resist trying to get victim points

I’d love to see a Vietnam or ww2 veteran react to someone calling these nurses hero’s on the frontline risking their lives like it’s a battlefield (srs)

I agree op, and **** talk nurses to my nurse wife about it. All of her friends are posting the same on social media, one even pled for sympathy then followed it up with 3 tiktoks.

There has not been a group this self righteous in awhile.

notice that it's only nurses doing this chit too.

Doctors aren't attention starved whores with a chip on their shoulders. They actually accomplished a great deal to get to where they're at. Nurses are second rate failures. No wonder they do this

Nurses always milk what they do hard af. You'd think they're the only person who does 12 or 16 hour shifts.

Imagine if construction workers were always posting about how hard they work? People would laugh.

Nruses have none of the responsibility of the doctor, and their nurses aids do the filthy work


Nurses are literally the assistant managers in the chain with an ego complex. They're like real life Dwight Schrutes of the medicine world going on about 12 hour shifts.

Lol I work in a hospital and its never been better. Keeping those visitors out has been a godsend. Just you and the people who are there to work, people are connecting more and nicer to each other. The nursing staff are more relaxed if anything, and not stressing out with new admissions, plenty of time to get your work done, etc.

Unlike soldiers, they are also pretty well paid. Many get paid 6-figures and have the chance to become nurse practitioners.

I hate that comparison with wars. People who fought in wars are not hero’s. Those wars were fought on other continents and for no reason at all. If you fought in them it was a net negative for you, a loss. They are not heroes for that. If it was invasion on US Soil then id consider them heroes but not those wars where young men died and lost limbs for no real good reason. Esp the recent Middle east wars. Imagine thinking your a hero for going to Iraq for a war even presidents say is pointless.

Btw i cant stand nurses either. My cousin is one and friend is one and they are pretentious and honestly dont work as hard as you think. 75% of the time they are chatting amongst each other snacking. Overrated profession for sure.

I live on a ranch taming and breaking horses in the middle of nowhere and am glad i can hunker down and avoid this chaos.

My wife is ICU and she has not made any tiktoks as her hospital is pretty crowded (240+ beds filled with covid patients) but her friends that work in non-impacted healthcare areas are still "frontline warriors" creating tiktoks. They are usually the culprit.

The overnight groups have a lot more time than most as patients are asleep for the most part.

my old ER went from 250 patients a day to under 40 patients a day. They destaffed all the PRN and fired half the mid level providers

I am in urgent care now and its really hurting us we went from 50 patients a day to 15 maybe

Yah its pretty obvious a lot of them are doing it for the attention. When someone else makes a post about nurses fine but they often pat themselves on the back and call themselves heroes like come on thats pathetic.


I also noticed that doctors don't do this probably because it actually takes brains to become a doctor while any attention starved hoe can become a nurse.

i know a decent amount of nurses. I actually had a bbq cookout with two nurses the other week for my friend's birthday. we all "kept our distance" but the nurses really didn't get a f*ck. Their hospitals are less busy actually. Didn't seem too concerned at all actually lol.

But then before the whole shelter in place i was at my good friends house. his wife and mother in laws are both nurses. The mother in law works ER at the hospital where the first person in my area actually died from the chinese virus. She was complaining a lot about how crazy it was. so yeah....idk. it's mixed experiences for everyone i'm betting.

My aunt is a nurse too and she has asthma but she volunteered to work with the corona patients. we thought she was crazy but it actually might have been a good call because they gave all the corona nurses the best protective equipment while the rest of the nurses had to get whatever was left over. I was just saying the other day that we need to mass produce the personal protective equipment so that everyone can use it and not just the medical professionals. if they use it and can protect themselves from the virus, we should all be able to as well.

i dont think all of these "nurses" are real nurses.

Im sure the nursing boards wouldnt like nurses, who have been in contact with COVID patients to not be quarentining and are instead out in public around people without masks and gloves

and most of these "nurses" seem pretty young and fit..... hmmmmm......

Lots of unemployed nurses here in AZ. Hospital occupancy is only 40-60% with very few being COVID-19 patients.

Governor announced that elective surgery can start again on 5/1 to save the hospitals.

I don't think the nurses started it. All of a sudden everyone started praising them (which they do deserve) and now every night at 7pm everyone cheers nurses. Work is so much easier for them now because unnecessary hospital visits have stopped. Nurses are typically over worked and understaffed. The only thing this virus is doing is making them gear up in PPE all day because the invisible danger is very real. GF is a nurse and she agrees it's a bit much the coverage the media is giving to nurses, but she'll take all the free goodies dropped off at the hospital, even though it should probably all go to food banks and people not making $90k a year.

I was shamed on my town's ******** feed by a nurse yesterday.

Someone referenced the Stanford study, and I chimed in that they should open our damn beach so I can go paddle boarding.

Some nurse chimed in the I should be ashamed of mywhite priviledge.

I asked her if she thought only white people liked the beach.

She responded with some insult, and was promptly banned from my town's ******** page.

Ironically, she was a short fat white woman.

I have a friend that is a nurse for a Urologist. If you didnt know her nursing specialty you would think she was on the front line in NY and knee deep in ICU Covid patients by her ******** posts.

With that said the Nurses that are truly on the front lines and facing imminent danger have brass ballz...
