It's actually not social media that is the problem it's smart phones

We had ******** and Twitter for years before smartphones came out and it didn't make anyone radical. It's only when smart phones became popular around 2012 when sh*t REALLY hit the fan. There's something about posting from your phone that makes you radical and I've noticed it myself.

Phones with decent cameras and apps that made it easy to upload pics/videos started it.

widespread 4g access is one of the main parts of 2012 theory

It was a totally different world pre 2012 because you never saw people on their phones and it took 2 hours to upload to the internet on mobile

Think about it. The government has a monopoly on violence and over here in Europe we can't even own a gun. So what do we do in this society, we basically can only talk. Smartphone is ultimate communication device. Smartphone is the equivalent of a gun in terms of communication.

Actually in this case the Drug (aka ******** and social media) has been designed and developed to be as addictive and unhealthy as possible, even ******** employees admit it it's designed to be addictive and to get constant "feedback". That's phucking evil and in this case you can blame the drug and the dealer. Phuck them

We had ******** for 6 years before 2012 and it was just friends posting pictures of their night outs. There was zero politics involved until smartphones came out and changed everything.

I've had a phone since 1999, chit really started to get weird after Instagram started gaining traction in 2012. Though ******** is what started it all..

Remove social media from phones = problem solved.

True it was a different world

I didn't have any social media or a cell phone until late 2011 I did check fb like twice per year and yeah thats all it was. Twitter wasn't even popular then.

This is gonna sound like I’m some loser incel but I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t bother me that it’s given even marginally attractive girls a ridiculous amount of undeserved power and ego boosts.

Its the tool that shapes the human.

We have things that were at one point optional. Tools like cars, or email, or cell phone. When it first came out it was optional to use these tools. As time goes on however we become forced by the system back into the system if you have held out on adopting the tools. You cant live in most places outside major cities without owning a car. You cant get a job without having an email or cell phone in most cases. These tools shape human behavior even further than that. It is a topic that a whole book could be written on. The cliff note on one point would be that the internalization of these social mediums and this cell phone medium alter the mind and change how humans experience reality very similar to things like the internalization of printed word/ typography medium. Before the printing press, books were actually manuscripts. Hand written. And were always read out loud. After the invention of typography/ printed word, every letter became uniform so it no longer became necessary for the human mind to look at the book. Humans internalized the medium of printed word/ typography and developed the ability to "read" silently in the mind. Humans then continued to "read" the world even after their eyes left the book. But "reading" and "looking" at the world are two entirely different experiences of reality. The same can be said with these new technologies. This "profile" online. This "social" medium. That in reality is not social at all. Socializing, as in interacting with other people, has been now replaced with the communication medium itself. For when you are now "socializing" online with other humans, it isnt social at all, you are interacting with a screen/computer. This internalization of that medium does not stop after your eyes are lifted from the screen. There needs to be some real research into this and a book written. This all did happen in 2012.

This is Instagram in a nutshell. There's people who spend hours a day cultivating the right photo angle, saying, etc all in the name of attention. And that's what women crave, attention and validation.

When you post something on social media, you are looking for a REACTION. Not just to show people hey, look at this picture. You want likes, you want comments, you want things to go viral. That's the problem nowadays. People are hooked on the attention they get, especially women. And if it's from strangers even better.

No the problem is social media.

Only one solution, ban social media or restrict social media immensely.

But social media wasn't a problem at all for years until people started using the apps on smart phones. I even found out myself when I post on reddit from my PC I just laugh at everything and not take it seriously and do some trolling as well. But when I post on reddit from my phone I tend to rage much harder at stupid views because it's more personal for some reason. On the phone it's easy to get sucked right into it.

It's like this:

Radio > TV > computer > phone

Each device sucks you out of reality more and more and the phone is by the worst. Phones are bad enough to make people go crazy.

I think its mostly social media but there is an element to being able to post on social media anywhere that causes problems also. Like if people are mad or bored at work they can just pull up social media and make an angry post. People can take more crazy videos now. 4g really connected us too much tbh

Yup thats why so many women are depressed these days. The thing is doing all this to post a picture and get likes feels so empty and detremental after a while. Imagine you take a pic and get 10 000 likes and then after a while you start getting 5000 - 6000 likes on pictures that **** will get you depressed because girls will associate it as them not being cool anymore or good looking enough.

Its not only girls one of m maley best friends will post a bunch of stuff on his ******** and he deletes anything that does not get enough likes i noticed.

I havent posted anything on fb in like 5 years never really cared for likes or comments from strangers.

Yeah man I agree, I used to have 1gb of data for my first iPhone, that would last me a month, now I’m on 30gb a month and usually use it all.

In all fairness, that kind of stuff was cool in 2011ish. It's just the fact that it's been recycled for so many years with 0 originality. The quality of the **** people post of themselves is ridiculous, people are soooo ugly and stupid these days. It was rare and funny to see in 2011. It's just a general aura thing and 2014+ has been ultra gay for both men and women and the entire world.

For sure, there's no going back aswell. I doubt the theme of 2020+ would change to anything before 2014, or anything close. It's weird as it's a problem with every age group. It's surprising with people older than 23, as their entire childhood consisted of a sick era, yet they ended up being such giant pussies.

I'm old and remember when debit cards started becoming more and more popular. I was like "nah...I'll just keep using cash" and little by little I would use the debit card. Now everything I've bought in the last 7 years or whatever is stored in a nice little database along with who knows what else about me... and I pitch a fukkin fit anytime I'm somewhere and it's cash only.

I've been social media free for a few weeks now.

I used to check each one if I had any down time. Finally realized wtf am I doing and why is any of this important?

Deleted it all and have to admit was kinda weird for a few days but now I don't even realize or think about it.

It's amazing how easy you can forget and revert back.
