I remember all the buzz surrounding this when it released in 2006 so a couple years later I decided to watch it on Netflix, got to this scene then shut it off.
I didn't know I was watching Hostel, I thought it was supposed to be Spanish Harry Potter or some ****.

that's the one i always think of for a question like this, good pick. very effective use of violence considering it's unexpected.

Predator starts off as an action movie and turns into a horror halfway through. That's the only other one I can think of.

Apparently Scott Derickson (Sinister, Deliver Us From Evil, Exorcism of Emily Rose, Doctor Strange) is directing Labyrinth 2

hereditary has a plot twist that's probably the most unexpected thing i've seen in a movie. most big plot twists are near the end, but this one changes the dynamic of the whole movie pretty early

that scene is supposed to remind you why that girl lives in that fantasy land because her stepfather is a violent, evil p.o.s
The training is nothing, the will is everything. The will to act.

I don't know man I've never seen it. In fact I only read the title of your post. Scrolled to the bottom to reply and don't want to scroll back up to the top. Sorry I can't be of more help. I did just get done watching the movie Dirty Work. I would give it a 6 out of 10.
