Apt for pre op bi lateral inguinal hernia surgery-what questions should I ask?(Srs)

This morning I have a pre op appointment for the inguinal hernias. What questions would you ask them?

I am rather concerned about long term pain.

Ask anything that you are concerned with. You can't ask any stupid questions or anything that they haven't heard before.

I destroyed my elbow (terrible triad) last year. In my pre-op appointment, I only asked when I would be able to lift again.

Each person is different in how they will respond to surgery and recovery. As for long term pain, it could be a possibility. I still deal with pain in my arm and will likely deal with it for the rest of my life. Don't let the idea of pain stop you or instill fear in you.

I had the same surgery about six years ago and they put in the mesh stuff. I was out of work for a week laying around the house but couldn't pick up anything more than eight pounds for six weeks. The pain sucked for that first week but gradually went away. I don't have any long term pain from it.
